I found it quite silly that the cardboard box it came in was the grill . You’re cooked if you step on it 🥲

The “grill” part of the toy was literally the cardboard box it came in. What a joke!

The actual toys are fine, but the “grill” is actually just the cardboard box that they come in. Absolutely unacceptable, approaching false advertising.

I was excited to get the Melissa & Doug Wooden Grill & Serve BBQ Set for my daughter because the concept seemed adorable. However, once we unpacked it, I realized the execution fell short compared to other Melissa & Doug products we've loved in the past. The biggest issue is that the grill itself is made out of the cardboard box it’s packaged in. Before we even used it, the box was already scuffed and dented, which was disappointing since I thought it was just packaging—not part of the actual toy. I was expecting something sturdier, like wood or plastic, especially considering the price point. Another downside is that the grill only has four Velcro pieces, meaning you can’t play with all the food at once, which limits the fun. On top of that, the knobs don’t turn, and the hot dog keeps sliding out of the bun, which frustrated my daughter. The set also doesn’t come with any plates, which would’ve been a nice addition for pretend play. That said, the food pieces themselves are well-designed and cute. I love how one side of the food is "raw," and the other side shows grill marks or condiments like ketchup and mustard. That attention to detail is what I’ve come to expect from Melissa & Doug, but the overall set could definitely use improvement. For the price, I expected more thought put into the durability and playability of this toy. It’s a fun idea, but not quite what I had hoped for.

Bought as a gift and it was immediately out of the packaging and used in her kitchen!!

I am giving four stars because the little grill is made out of cardboard and will not withstand a 3 year old. The food and the utensils are nice and my granddtr really likes them . She plays with them a lot.

Very disappointed. Not sturdy and the spatula velcro combo is hard even for me, an adult. I would not recommend this at all.

Got this for my nephew to go with an indoor tent. He loves it!

Bought this set for my Granddaughter. She loved the idea of it but the velcro made it hard to use the tools to flip the meat. Also the tongs slipped off when she tried to use them. She is six years old.

Our granddaughter loves to grill along side her daddy with this set. It also works on her fine motor coordination when she uses the spatula or tongs to turn food and the knife to "cut" the corn and ribs.

Who decided cardboard was the best option for the actual grill? It fell apart so quickly and the velcro didn't stay in tact on the grill surface. Everything else is great, but c'mon..

I bought this as a gift for a three year old boy. He absolutely loved it! All of the kids were playing with it. It was a hit!

Kids ages 3 to 10 have really enjoyed playing with this sturdy set. We got it to go along with the Melissa and Doug food truck. It makes a great combo. Kids have played with It everyday since it arrived. Everything looks so authentic, great for pretend play.

Love the wooden grill set! It is so cute and detailed. Can't wait I until summer and he sees dad doing it. One question...can you purchase just the tongs? I have a unruly dog who chewed them up.

My granddaughter loves her grill. The only negative thing I can say is that the "grill" is cardboard and not wood and I have had to repair it several times.

My son grills, and now my grandson (2 y) can join in or recreate the meals. He's overjoyed to be part of the process. The Velcro dots to keep the sandwiches together are genius.

With summer grilling in full swing, I figured that this was just the thing for my grandson to enjoy while watching his parents grill. He was thrilled. The hamburger stacked with cheese, lettuce, and tomato was a particular hit. The Velcro spots to hold it all together is genius. My grandson also has the fruit cutting set. The BBQ will be his new obsession.
