Matter Compostable Tall Kitchen Trash Bags - 13gal/40ct

These are not the same bags as pictured, I used to love Matter bags because they were the only compostable trash bags that didn't rip. The old model had a dark green drawstring and this new model I was sent have a light green drawstring. Every single bag I have used so far from this new box has ripped when taking it out of the bin. The bag material itself is also much flimsier. Idk why they would change what was a good product. They have lost another customer

I've been using these bags for months and loving them. The most recent ones I ordered were different, though. The bag and drawstring are a slightly different color, and the bags themselves are flimsy. Several bags ripped just pulling them out of the box, and I had three in a row split down the seams before I gave up. I had bought two boxes at the same time, and both boxes have the same problem. It looks like they changed the product and now it's terrible, which is disappointing!

They are just as strong as plastic bags offering it long durability. And let's not forget that they are eco-friendly! A great product to help our planet ♻️

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impression when I took the bag out was how robust it was. The majority of my experiences with a variety of compostable bags both at work and at home have been negative. They just fall apart or are so thin that you need to double bag not to tear them. This bag however is the most similar to other off the shelf non-compostable bags. It is robust and don’t break down too quickly when introduced to my wet kitchen waste. Over all an excellent option and easily the best I’ve encountered. The only reason it don’t get a five was because the material is so slippery and there is no form fit around the top that it kept slipping off the lip of the trash container I had. This wouldn’t be a problem for a stand alone can with a sleeve that it can pinch between but my built ins wouldn’t hold them. To improve and make them a 5/5 I suggest some sort of build in synching mechanism at the opening to tighten over the can. Otherwise, it would also be easy to 3D print some clips out of PLA (also biodegradable) and include a set in each box.

It's not ideal when you grab it, thinking it's a regular trash bag and your trash ends up all over the floor. But that's on me, and not the product. I just need to learn how to read labels.

I love that these are earth friendly and made from plants yet durable with drawstrings to make for easy disposal without snapping. There's no scent and I haven't had any issues with these bags busting or ripping open on me. I like the environmental fact and QR code on each bag and these fit my kitchen trash can perfectly. The only issue I had was one of the bags did leak just a bit, but these are worth it in my opinion!
