Q: Can the wooden play gym be stood up without being attached to the mat, or will it only stand up when attached to the play mat? I want to be able to use it with the play mat or with a bouncer underneath.

A: Thanks for reaching out! While we do not recommend using anything other than the included Activity Mat under The Play Gym, the Activity Mat is not required in order for the wooden legs to stand up.

Best play gym to grow with your little one!
I purchased the Lovevery Play Gym for my baby who is now five weeks old and we have loved it since he was born! The packaging was beautiful and it came with helpful instructions and a book that explains all the ways you can use the gym. Assembly was very easy and straightforward. The wood top is beautiful and very sturdy, and I love the hanging toys. The mat is soft and comfortable, which is perfect for my newborn since he mostly lays on his back right now looking up at the toys. Right now, we are making a lot of use of the black and white cards, which you can clip to the top of the play gym, allowing my baby to engage with it even though he is so little and not sitting up yet. He really enjoys it! I also love that this play gym can grow with him and be used well into the sitting stage. This is another great Lovevery product for our home. The materials feel very durable and I can tell it will last for a long time. I would definitely purchase this again and highly recommend it to other parents looking for a play gym that can grow with their baby!

Customer Service and Delivery System awful
I'm sure the actual play gym is great. We wouldn't know as we recieved a dirty, opened, im assuming already returned play gym. Call Target Customer Service and they refused to help, saying it was already returned. Absolute joke of a customer service team!

Crossbars could be better
This playmet has been fantastic for my new 5mo old. We got it when she was just over 3mos and it’s been really fun seeing her develop new interests and ways of playing with the different sections. The hide and find is the only one that doesn’t get much attention, but she loves the teething ring on its own. I gave this 4 stars because 1. the wood crossbars are bigger than the mat, so the Velcro attachment pieces have to be pulled at an angle to attach the wood to the mat. 2. We often leave this unattached so we can move the crossbars around, especially because the different flaps are hard for my baby to access when the tent is attached. 3. Lastly, my biggest issue is the Velcro pieces to attach the crossbar are heavier duty, which means the edges are quite sharp. I can’t count how many times either I or my baby have been scratched and bled from these pieces. It seems like softer material or snaps would be better choice

Love this play mat!
I’ve been loving the play kits and I’ve been eyeing the play mat but didn’t know if it was worth the money. When my baby got bored of his other simple play mat I decided to make the leap and I’m very happy I did. There was so much thought put into making this play mat for growing babies and to keep them engaged and enjoying it as they get older. Would definitely recommend.

The Play Gym
At this point in my grandsons life it is not a gym but rather providing him walls to focus on. Would I call it a gym probably not. A Sensory Development Centre! Mom and Dad already involved in Montessori are aware that thats what the set is doing.

Their own little star dome
My favorite feature by far is the tent option. Overstimulated babies have an escape of their own both soothing and comforting. Both of my twin granddaughters enjoy their quiet time focused on visual stimulation. Almost like having their own little star dome except it is polka dots they see. As a Nana who is their primary caregiver while Mama transitions back to work for the next three months the play gym is used for hours each day. Highly recommend.

Really great - wish there was a little more adjustability
It’s a fabulous play gym. The material feels soft and well-made. My only complaint is that I wish there were more hanging Velcro tabs / places to move things around. My son is very tall (99th percentile) and I feel like the tabs hold the hanging toys too low for him!
