Very quiet, keep set on auto so it does its thing without my interference. I think it makes breathing little easier.

We have 4 Alaskan Malamutes which average 100+ lbs each with lots of hair. They bring in a lot of dust from our wooded lot. The dust has been greatly reduced once we purchased this BreatheSmart Fit50 air purifier. We are actually going to purchase a 2nd one as we really like how much cleaner the air feels and how quiet it is. We just ordered extra pre-filters to make it easier to wash one and keep the air purifier running.

seems to work.. I bought this for a DUSTY house. I do have to dust the purifier itself so that's a little weird, but I suppose if that's where the dust is attracted you might expect to find it there. I do still have to dust the house everyday but the layer is not as thick and I notice less floaties in the air. House seems a little fresher smelling in general. Not noticeably, but if I think about it, the lingering odors that normally occur (cooking, trash etc) aren't there. I placed 1 near our front door and the other in our walkout basement main area. The color indicator on the one upstairs changes to red every time we walk by (stirring up dust) so I know that feature works well. My family has fun noticing the differences in air quality throughout the day. I haven't had it long so I can't speak for longevity and for the price I would hope for a bigger difference or else I'd give it 5 stars.

The gentleman who answered the phone was polite and very well informed. He even gave me his personal phone number when I stated I might have a problem installing the filter. The unit is self if quite, easy to operate and easy to change the filter

I recently purchased this air purifier and I'm very pleased with it. We live in the country with lots of animals and dust. It has made a huge difference in the dust on everything and clean air. Love it.

Just purchased my third Alen filter and second FIT50. I am satisfied with each product because removes dust (my main objective) and cleans the air I breathe. FIT50 is so much quieter than the BreatheSmart and seems to filter just as well in a similar space. Price for the unit and replacement filter is quite aggressive, however, it does the job as described and from my perspective, and is worth the cost.

I have suffered from allergies and asthma since I was a kid so I know how miserable it can be. The past few years my symptoms have been under control with medication and allergy shots. That all came crashing to an end when we learned the bunnies we adopted for our kids needed to be inside the house. I was back to being miserable and on the verge of sending the bunnies back when we decided to get this air filter. I no longer need to take my allergy medication and feel sleepy all day. I cannot put into words how much this has helped, it is amazing. I love how it will adjust cleaning levels depending on the level of pollutants in the air. Needless to say, my kids are happy to be keeping their bunnies.

Bought the BreatheSmart Fit50 to use in the hall between two bedrooms. Last spring I ordered the bigger breatheSmart to use in the livingroom and kitchen area. Both units work great. I have an asthma like condition which seems to be improving since installing these units. I have three dogs so there is always a lot of pet hair and dander around, especially with the hot weather we have had lately.

My wife and I purchased the Allen BreatheSmart HEPA Air Purifier in January of 2014 and the results were amazing. We noticed there was no dust on our TV stand or on the top of our appliances. We both suffer from allergies and within two weeks our allergies significantly decreased. We were able to breathe easier and with less red puffy eyes. We placed the air cleaner near the intake of our air conditioner and when I went to replace the filter 60 days later, it had very little dust on it. We liked the Breathesmart so much that we just purchased the Alen BreatheSmart FIT50 HEPA Air Purifier as well. The Air cleaners are both quit when on high and I did notice any change in my electric bill.

I've had the Fit50 for about 3 weeks and it has been a great so far. We use it in the bedroom and the fan is so quiet! I really appreciate the Auto feature which adjusts the fan speed based on the air quality conditions. It definitely works as we have a down comforter and when we get into bed or make the bed in the morning you hear the fan speed up as it detects the additional down/dust that moving the comforter creates. After a few minutes it lowers back down and is whisper quiet for sleeping. I work from home in a basement office so I brought the unit down stairs to test the quality of the air and it was on Turbo for a while before slowing down. I have just ordered and received a second unit for the office! Look forward to many years of reliable air purification from both units and based on what I've read on the website about the Alen Lifetime Warranty...I've got nothing to worry about if either malfunction. One suggestion for improvement is how the "Lock" and "Panel Lights Off" feature work together. Once you've locked the panel you can't turn off the lights and once you've turned off the lights, you can lock it. It would be a nice enhancement that once the panel lights off off, you can still hold the Lock button down to lock it. Just a thought!

I have very strong mold and moderate pollen allergies. I ran this filter in my bedroom so I can have an allergy free place to sleep and I was impressed by its performance. I didn't have any issues in doors with pollen or mold allergies even during the ragweed or heavy rain season where the counts are high outside. My favorite feature about this air filter compared to others is the smart sensor where it automatically adjusts the fan speed based on particles its sensing in the air. I noticed it kicking up into high speed when I ended up stirring up dust from folding laundry, vacuuming, or even light smoke from cooking. This takes the guess work out of knowing when to turn up the fan speed and saves power. I also like how the filter is quiet enough to easily sleep while running, the ionizer doesnt make a buzzing sound like some other brands, has a slim compact footprint, and the clean air diffuses well across the room in the form of a gentle flow. A potential negative may be odor control. I didn’t test the version with carbon filter, but it may be hard to see how much carbon can fit into the slot for the air filter to reside compared against the bulkier brands out there. In terms of air filter longevity and pricing, I haven’t owned it long enough to speak to this yet. In terms of aesthetics, this has the best looking control interface I’ve used. In summary, I’ve used brands from BlueAir, IQ Air, Air Pura, and Sharp and this has been my favorite one so far in terms of balancing noise, performance, and features.

Little about me // Most of my life I did not have allergies and even while playing golf or going out to a park, it would be nothing more than a sneeze here or there. But in the last 2 years, I found myself waking up most mornings having to sneeze, blow my nose and feeling really stuffy. This started becoming the norm and there were even times when at night I would become so stuffed up that I wouldn't be able to sleep. My co-workers would often ask me if I was sick but I told them other than being stuffed up I felt fine and accepted this is how I would be. Another reason I wanted to give the FIT50 a try is because I generally have a weaker immune system, poor sleep and thought air quality could help with this. Enter FIT50 // Just a week into using the FIT50 in my bedroom, I remember it suddenly hitting me that I had noticeably less sneezing, needing to blow my nose and overall was a lot less stuffed up in the mornings. I've been using the FIT50 for two weeks now (2-4 hours daily) and no longer have the feeling of being congested in the mornings and do not have frustrations sleeping due to stuffiness. With better air quality, I wake up free of the above mentioned symptoms and overall just knowing I have better quality makes me just feel better. The device sounds like a smooth running fan, I find it kind of soothing! I always thought air purifiers were for people who had severe allergies, asthma, had pets or were just scared of germs. Having been relieved of my morning "routine" if you will, I realize that a little change can make a big difference in my quality of life. Thanks FIT50.

Having purchased a high quality room air purifier in the past, I was confident that a HEPA based system from a respected manufacturer would positively impact on the indoor air quality in our home. A lifelong allergy sufferer, I am hypersensitive to keeping up with clean pillow cases and creating a low dust environment - but those efforts yield minimal benefits. No matter what we try, every night we hear our eight-year-old daughter over the baby monitor struggling mightily with the allergy laden air of South Texas… snorting, snoring, tossing and turning. After only a few nights with the BreathSmart Fit 50 we have seen a dramatic reduction in sleep time allergy symptoms from our daughter. The downstream affect of sleeping more soundly will SURELY have a positive impact on her days as well. I was nervous about introducing ambient light and noise into my daughter’s sleep environment. After testing in our bedroom, we realized that the Fit 50 purrs like a kitten and the lights turn off completely if you choose. Lastly, the product is well engineered and intuitive. Top tier fit and finish. Kudos to the designers.

When I first received the Breathesmart Fit50 I was doubtful that it would do anything. After a couple weeks of using it, I've noticed an incredible difference in the air quality of my home and so has my wife. I have severe allergies and asthma and thus am sensitive to dust, pollen, and all things in the air. Within the first week or so, I've noticed that I'm not sneezing as much or waking up with congestion, which has been every morning for the past 20 years. To my wife's excitement, my snoring has decreased, due to better breathing, and she says I'm less cranky because I can breathe better. She keeps on taking it into the kitchen when she cooks because she says it helps with odors too. Yesterday, she was excited that she didn't have to dust this week because all the dust seems to be gone. Whatever makes her happy must be good. My daughter now wants one in her room because she says her allergies are lessened when she's in the living room (where we placed the air purifier during the day). Another good thing about this air purifier is the air flow. It brings cool air into the room and is much quieter than my fan. We will most likely invest in several of these in the near future for each room.

This unit has a sleek, very modern look to it and looks great in any room I put it in. I liked the way you can tell how bad the "particles" are in the room and when they are good again. I have never had an air purifier before this one and was surprised to hear how quiet it actually was. It was light weight and actually really easy to move around from room to room. I would definently recommend this product and have enjoyed the one I have.

I have four dogs and this works wonderfully in purifying the air and eliminating pet odor. I love it that it isnt bulky. It's a classy white color, slim and compact. It was super easy to put together and very user friendly. It's loud on the higher settings, but the noise doesnt bother me since i leave it in the living room and only use it in the day time. I got it primarily for pet odor, but i noticed that when we had our cook-out inside the house over the 4th of july weekend (it was too hot outside), it actually helped with all the cooking odors as well. Well worth the money. i am a super happy user! Highly recommend!

We hate the name but LOVE the product. We've used it now for about a month and the consensus in our house is that it's a keeper. The conditions this unit was used under were as follows. We live in Los Angeles, near a very busy freeway, with a lot of industrial truck traffic. We don't have central air so the windows have to be kept open for some air circulation. We also do animal rescues so we always have lots of critters in the house, which translates to lots of pet hair. And given our 3 mile proximity to the beach there are always plenty of mold spores in the air. Needless to say, our environment is less than ideal for those with breathing issues, which means the Fit 50 definitely had it work cut out for it. I can't believe how quite this unit is. It's even quieter than our BreatheSmart units which are already amazingly quite. The first week I kept checking it to make sure the lights are still on to confirm it's still running, since it's so quite. Since it's installation, I've noticed far less dust on hard surfaces and particles in the air in the room it's used in. No, it's not going to dust your room for you but it does cut down significantly on the number of airborne particles which does result in seeing less dust build up, even with the windows open. Love the compact size, it fits in more tight places than it's larger partner the BreatheSmart, which was great for giving us lots of placement options. This unit would even fit comfortably in a small college dorm room. The lock button feature is great for those with small children who like to push buttons, or those like us, who have cats that like to walk across the top of the unit. We especially love the the fact that it restarts itself after a power outage (something all of our past air purifiers couldn't do), That's a definite plus, especially since unlike most noisy air purifiers, the Fit 50 is so quite, that the fact that you're not hearing any noise from it won't immediately alert you that it's off. Love the great warranty that the Fit 50 comes with too. I'd definitely recommend it (and do) to friends, co-workers, etc. and wouldn't hesitate to buy another if needed. In summary: These little units are a lot of clean air bang for the buck in a small, sleek, quiet package, with lots of room placement and filter options. Alen has definitely come up with another winner!! Just change the name.

I love the Fit50! The air in my house is so much cleaner since I got it and I can't believe how quietly it runs. My favorite feature is auto. I never realized how much dust could be kicked up just by someone walking around. I have to admit it gives me a little thrill whenever my dogs or family members start moving around and I hear the Fit50 shift to a higher speed because it sensed the change in the number of particulates in the air. For someone that suffers from allergy/sinus issues like me, this is a wonderful machine.

I never thought that an air purifier could impact my health in so many positive ways. My asthma and allergies have had a huge negative impact on my daily lifestyle for the past 15 years, but now my sleep and comfort level are much improved, since purchasing my new air purifier. I would like to express my thanks to Alen, for developing the BreatheSmart Jr. as it does an amazing job of removing the pollen and molds from my home. My immune system seems to be revived every night as I sleep. I wake up with a much improved nights rest. I no longer have the headaches and incessant sneezing, that have been a part of my life for years, and the medications to mitigate those problems. I feel that the BreatheSmart Jr. is affordable, and it is truly a piece of art in any room, with its sleek design and inter-changeable fronts.
