Q: What type os salt is used? Is it table salt?
A: LMNT does not use Himalayan salt, sea salt, or table salt. These are all sources of sodium chloride (salt) and each comes with certain tradeoffs. LMNT’s salt is extracted and produced in Hutchinson, Kansas through an evaporated manufacturing process. Hutchinson, Kansas — or Salt City, as it’s known — is home to salt deposits that were formed about 300 million years ago from a “great inland sea” that has since been covered up with earth. These deposits sit between 500 and 1,000 feet below the Earth’s surface and are regarded as one of the purest salt deposits in the world.

Q: Is this grain free ( corn or rice ) drevideds? Iam allergic to grains
A: Thank you for reaching out, and for your patience as we worked to get back to you! We do not add corn, rice, or any other grains to LMNT. However, natural flavors need a carrier for use in powdered products, and flavored LMNT drink mixes use a small amount of corn-derived maltodextrin as the flavor carrier. Said differently, that’s between ~1 and ~2 calories of maltodextrin. While maltodextrin is processed to remove the corn protein, many folks with corn allergies and intolerances choose to avoid corn-derived maltodextrin altogether to be extra safe. We do not test LMNT for corn protein. If you prefer not to consume maltodextrin, there’s none in LMNT Sparkling since it’s liquid, nor in our Raw Unflavored drink mix because it does not contain any natural flavors. We also have Lemonade Salt, which uses tapioca fiber instead of maltodextrin. Lastly, we freely share these recipes, which you can use to make your own electrolyte drink mix at home. We encourage you to Stay Salty however works best for you. If you have any other questions, please let us know!
