A: These glasses like all glassware are not entirely flat on the bottom to prevent breakage and to prevent tipping of the glass when it is being used. We recommend wiping off the glasses prior to removing them from your dishwasher if water standing on the glasses is an issue with your machine to help prevent any water spillage while unloading. Big, Beautiful, and Brawny
Bought a dozen 13 months ago. I'm a bit clumsy and have knocked them over many times and (unbelievably) have even had them fall from the kitchen countertop to my oak hardwood floors a couple times without them breaking (surely this was weird luck). I broke my first one yesterday whilst working in my basement where I knocked one off a 3' high perch onto the concrete slab basement floor. So today I'm here to buy spares. I figure if I continue to break one a year, today's purchase will allow me to keep my kitchen cabinet stacked with a full dozen until 2037.

22 oz Libbey Gibraltar Iced Tea Glasses
I received my Gibraltar iced tea glasses today. They came well packed and at 1st glance seemed exactly what I expected from Libbey, sturdy, attractive, and well-constructed. However, 10 of the 12 glasses have ridges near the bottom of the glasses...almost looks like paintbrush strokes. They are on the outside so that I can feel them. I know they aren't the most expensive qlasses, but I've depended on quality from Libbey through the years. My family will use these, but I'm disappointed that another company has let their quality standard slip.

These are attractive heavy glasses. However, they do not hold 22 ounces of liquid. More like19 ounces.

Gibraltar glasses
Encountered these glasses MANY years ago and have had them on my shelf in 2 sizes ever since. Large, durable, easy to hold. These larger ones are my favorites for iced tea., iced coffee and plain water. Now I am buying them for a second home outside of the US where I cannot obtain them. They are heavy and will need a dedicated suitcase to keep them intact but it is worth the extra work!
