Amazing until thunderbolt delivery stopped working
**1-Star Review** I was thrilled with this monitor until the USB power delivery on the back stopped working. This issue rendered it useless and not worth the price. The ability to connect to my Mac with a single cable, providing both power and a 96-watt picture, was the main reason I chose this monitor. Unfortunately, the Thunderbolt power delivery hub failed right after the one-year warranty expired, just as others have reported. Numerous online reviews indicate that this problem is linked to faulty panels from LG. I expected better quality for the price.

LG 5K2K is AWESOME!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m using the LG 40 inch UltraFine for video editing, creative work, and daily productivity. The 5120 by 2160 5K2K resolution feels like two monitors in one and gives me enough room to split apps into three sections or four quads. For editing, having a wide timeline with previews and tools above it has been a big upgrade. I chose this monitor for a true single cable workspace, and Thunderbolt 5 delivers with power, fast data, and access to everything on my desk. Setup was an interesting challenge only because the screen is large, but still easy to handle. The built in hub works better than expected. The Ethernet port is solid, and with an adapter I can even use my full 2.5 gig speeds. I use it daily. It matches what LG advertises, cleans up my desk, and improves my workflow. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This LG monitor is an incredible part of my setup now. I'm a photographer who edits on a laptop. I was having issues with my previous monitor (different brand, 32in), so I decided to go big for my next one. Out of the box, it was simple to put together and feels very well built. The instructions for the cable placement confused me at first, but I used the Thunderbolt 5 cable LG included and it works like a dream! The only issue I found was it flickering when it returned from sleep mode at first. I realized that the refresh rate is set to 120 Hertz by default so I switched it to variable 48-120 Hertz and have not had any issues since. I have it set to sRGB as well for editing consistency. Also, the dock-like ports under the screen are so convenient. Being able to plug in just the one cable to my laptop and have my whole setup ready to edit with incredible detail is a 10/10. Monitor keeps flickering
This is the best monitor I have used when it’s working properly. This is the second time I’m experiencing flickering issues. I spent a lot of money on this monitor and it has broken twice in the last 6 months.

WOW LG you've produced the best once again.....
This is an amazing monitor, probably the ultimate in IPS displays. I'm a content creator (no gaming) and this is the absolute best available... Nothing comes anywhere near what this monitor produces. Keep your posh overpriced brands and head for LG. Even while video rendering top, video editing side and browsing with 10 to 15 tabs open this LG doesn't even blink, Oh and watching videos is a whole different experience... WOW LG you've produced the best once again.....

The monitor is limited to 50Hz on Linux which is far from ideal

Very sharp and clear display but getting the right
I've been using the display for a week, and I really do like the very sharp and clear text and great colour matching. The stand is great, stable and has a good range of adjustment. I am very pleased with the display, however, I have one niggle. If I use scaling of 150% it is too large, and the lower option of 125% gives too small characters.

I love this ultrawide 5K2K monitor from LG and could not wait to recommend it to you. Features wise, its various color grade selections, IPS panel, HDR 10 support, picture-in-picture, bonus multi-devices controller software, thunderbolt-4 (USB-C) port, and of course DisplayPort/HDMIs connections are handy to connect PC/MacBook/iPad Pro and my Surface Pro 8 via Thunderbolt/USB-C ports. With integrated thunderbolt port, signal/power/audio delivery can be simply connected with just one cable. 10W rich bass speakers, unlike other built-in speakers’ monitors are also favorited. I am a big fan of big monitors particularly from LG. Inspired by 34' UltraWide 34UC99 and 43' 43UD79 4K monitor, I told myself this was the one to go next so here I have it now :). Speaking of corns, it's refresh rate of 72hz (5ms response time) is definitely not top of the line nor its HDMI 2.0 version the latest standard for wider bandwidth (2.0 18Gbps vs 2.1 48Gbps). Lucky, none of which brothers me for my WFH and creative works on it and I'd say it's really a great investment, given you are not buying monitors regularly.

Pretty good actually but ............
Not sure if it's LG or Apple but they never seem, (at least at first), to be properly compatible. My 2018 Mac Mini which in the specs says; (Up to two displays: ONE DISPLAY WITH 5120-BY-2880 RESOLUTION AT 60HZ connected via Thunderbolt 3 plus one display with 4096-by-2160 resolution at 60Hz connected via HDMI 2.0), will not show max resolution. I have purchased a new TB3 cable with the latest specs and the max res still won't show up. Makes me apprehensive about ordering an LG Gram portable whcih

Brilliant display
I am a 3D Artist and Photographer/Designer. This display has a brilliant PPI for the work that do where clarity and screen size are very important/helpful. I love the resolution and aspect ratio and when I have some down time I can run indie games well but AAA games are harder to run without the highest end specs. My only preference for this monitor would be for it to have a glossy screen option as I would rather have the improved colour reproduction and black levels found on a glossy panel rather then the washed out black levels you get from a matt coating. All round though, this is the best 5k2k monitor I could find with 10bit colour and Freesync.

First impressions of 40WP95C-W
The sheer scale of the monitor is impressive, picture quality is fantastic and connectivity options are great. However when deep sleep mode is selected it sometimes won't wake up (fixed once this mode is disabled) and it sometimes flickers when multiple high quality video windows are open.

Great monitor, but doesn't work properly with Macs
I've bought this monitor, and unfortunately doesn't charge a MacBook M1 16inch, LG after months and a technical engineer visit blamed the compatibility so they don't cover it, so be aware of that if you purchase this monitor.

Great resolution and colour reproduction
I use the monitor with a 2021 MacBook Pro. The monitor is a great fit providing Thunderbolt 4, 96W power and a native resolution that complements the MacBook Pro display.

Great working monster
I bought this monitor last week. Amazing for my work. Enough brightness and response time. Not feel that big in front of me, even though it is 40 inch. Downside, it is too bright under brightness auto adjustment. Color is too blue in HDR Mode.
