Lenovo ThinkPad T14s G5 - a return to form :)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Long time ago I was a fun of Thinkpads - I had Thinkpad 600e, T40, T43, T60, T430 and then.. I switched to Dell - I had Latitude e7440, 5300, 7420, and the last one was 7440 i7 1365U 32GB 1TB 5G. The last dell was very good but very unfriendly to Linux (on the contrary to 5300 and 7420 I had before) - I was struggling with intel IPU6 camera, fingerprint sensor, Fibocom FM350-GL modem... and the last was crucial for me... A year ago I tried to switch to Thinkpad P14S G2 AMD 32GB 1TB LTE - but the thick screen frames, the poor sound quality, inability of AMD 5th gen transcode certain codecs, but perfectly running linux and ideal keyboard... I stayed with dell 7440 and Windows + WSL while sold back the thinkpad. In may 2025 I have been proposed a new ThinkPad T14S G5 Intel Ultra 5 135U 32GB 2TB LTE 5 years warranty for a very reasonble price here in Poland and decides to go for it. So far all good, I like it very much. Linux works out of the box - everything! The screen is amazing with 100% RGB and very bright! Finaly the magic thinkpad's keyboard (less convenient than on my former T430 but much better than Dell's); I like the touchpad that does not become dirty on this model; the thing bazel of the screen; the trackpoint; comparing to P14S G2, the sound is much better coming from the speakers on sides alowwing to finaly hear the stereo effects (the soound is the only thing that wa better on Dell 7440); the battery lasts 10+ hours whne surfing internet; and, of course, the look and feel of the machine overall - it does not feel cheap and is very light. After a purchase, of course, I have found multiple comments on Reddit that one should not go for Intel machine but rather AMD. It is faster and mor cool. I cannot argue but the one I have got I am happy with and it does the job I need just perfect. This ThinkPad T14s Gen 5 is a phenomenal machine that has successfully brought me back to the Thinkpad brand. Thank you Lenovo!

Great computer, fast and light
Excellent product (as usual). The computer goes really fast and is very powerfull, still being light. The only thing I'm still struggling with is the swap between FN and CTRL keys in the keyboard (why not being consistent across all Lenovo products?)

Still some kinks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Lenovo is only ok. It has trouble detecting my smart tv as a secondary or extended monitor. Other than that, it works and doesn't crash like other laptops.

Solid computer, as expected from Lenovo!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned or used several Lenovo ThinkPads, professionally and personally. The brand's capability and quality have always impressed me, including the longevity of the devices. The T14s Gen 5 is no exception. I bought this computer to replace a T540p that I have been using for nearly 10 years as my home computer. The T540p continues to be a reliable device that we have used for managing finances, children's schoolwork, and the occasional work. However, it was time to upgrade to a new device with the latest tech. So far, I've been very impressed by the T14s. It's quiet, lightweight, and extremely powerful. The battery life is phenomenal. Time will tell whether this device has the same longevity as my older Lenovo, but I am extremely happy with the decision to purchase another Lenovo. If you are hung up on the price, I can tell you that you get what you pay for. There are surely cheaper options out there, but my experience is that you will not get the same performance or longevity out of those options.

Lots of Potential
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well constructed laptop. Some compatibility issues with Linux but otherwise a solid option.
