The most fragile mantis but stunning set
This set tested my patience beyond anything. I started (foolishly) with the mantis. Fiddly. Fragile. But gorgeous and worth it. The butterfly was the easier build out of the three and I adore the beetle. Having the beetle sit on more than four pins and maybe not balancing on white croissants 😅 that would be helpful! But they really are beautiful and well designed sets.

Nice Set; Irritated me astronomically
I hate the stupid beetle. It kept falling apart and it didn't even look cool in the end compared to the others so I just spent the whole time building it irritated as heck. I've never wanted/had to use superglue on a set until now.

That doesn't sound right! All of the bugs in The Insect Collection should be stable and shouldn't fall apart. You should never need to use glue to keep a set together. We'd love to help troubleshoot the issue with your beetle, give us a call or chat at LEGO.build/Service-BV.

Great for a group!
I bought these and built them with friends. Really fun to build side by side. Beautiful end result and fun build. Most of the time you are building the branches the insects sit on and not the actual insect so thats not as fun. Also the price may be a little high for what you get. However over all I'm extremely satisfied and hope Lego makes more builds like this! Note that the beetle and mantis can stand on their own legs or on the branch, while the butterfly can only be mounted on the branch. Ps. You get cute little ladybugs and a bee!

Love them
Had a great time building these insects. The scale is also great, not to large or small. Overall quite enjoyable.

Impressively Detailed and Creative
This set has probably been my favorite in terms of both building experience and final product. All 3 of the insects move in such unique and creative ways, with the beetle even having wings you can detach and reattach for different poses. The leafage is sparce on the dirt floors of these figures, and the branches they are on are a bit more sparce, but I like the balance between that and the focus on the bright insects. I like how each of the three are unique in the branch poses and bug poses / building techniques. My final highlight, the adorable bee on the butterfly figure!

Excellent display set
While not technically the most taxing, this is an ingenious set with superb display value. There is a pleasing variety between the three insects as well, which gives some fun building variety.

EPIC BUILD
A great centre piece for a dinner or coffee table, or you can place each one in a different room to create a wonderful atmosphere of an insect haven. Really helps brighten up a dull corner or shelf, 9.5/10 would highly recommend for a christmas or birthaday gift

Stunning sets
These are all beautiful models and go brilliantly in a display with botanical sets. The grasshopper in particular is a little fragile though, so I'd recommend keeping it out of the way of cats.

Great Set
I bought the Kingfisher a while back so when the Insects came out it was immediately on my radar. My son and I picked it up The other day and it did not disappoint. The build is fun, can be done with the family (broken into three builds), and looks great. The value for the money is perfect, would highly recommend. Now I just hope Lego puts out some more birds!

Great build!
I received this as a gift from my brother and I really enjoyed building it. This build was beautiful and a lot of fun. I will admit, though, the Chinese Mantis creeped me out a bit. :))

Joy from start to finish
I wanted this set for awhile, but talked myself out of it multiple times. Eventually I gave in but had convinced myself I would regret the purchase. Boy, was I wrong. The building is satisfying and the final product makes me smile inside and out every time I see it. One piece I got was a mirror image of what it was supposed to be, but as part of the end of the stick the beetle sits on, it caused no build issues. Really a fantastic set. I built the Kingfisher set right afterwards and, as much as I love birds, the insect set wins.

Big, beautiful, and fun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set was a gift for my 20 year old daughter who loves to build. The finished pieces are big and bright. The beetle and praying mantis can be moved and posed. This is a great set to display.
