Engineer Gear Box

We love Learning Resources selection of pre-school interactive STEM toys! The 'gear set' allows for several designs to be built that are accompanied by excellent instructions. The product is a stimulating way for grandparents to cultivate the minds of their young grandchildren.

Can't assemble the tracks

I was trying to assemble tracks from small red pieces but they keep falling apart. Can't figure out how to make the pieces stick together. The manual doesn't explain how to do that.

One for the whole family

It was a gift for my 4 year old nephew’s birthday. He has had a blast building with them and he has gotten a lot of help from his brothers (ages 7 and 12) and his cousins (ages 9 and 11). It’s a great family gift!

Purchasing more

So impressed with this, it has provided hours of fun for my boys, and they have asked for more so they can add and build to their creations. It does need an adult in the beginning to show how it works and how it all connects, but they learnt quickly and once shown they were able to continue play on their own. It is educational, fun and interactive.

I would buy this again.

Hours/days of building activity!

My 5 year-old son has really enjoyed following the included instructions in the set, along with building his own machines. We also purchased the 60 piece starter building set just so he would have extra pieces to build what he wanted.

So much fun

Fosters creativity!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love getting building toys for my kids because it allows them to express their creativity and imagination. This set can be used to create a multitude of moving machines! It has moveable track chains, gears, a wrecking ball, wheels, a crane hook, and more-116 pieces in all. My son has always loved construction trucks so this is right in his wheel house! The two negatives I would say is that my 5 year old could not build the illustrated designs suggested without my help, but he just turned 5. Also, the set comes with 2 rubber bands, that I can tell are not going to last. And these 2 rubber bands counted as 2 of the 116 pieces.

My son had a blast

He got a huge kick out of all of the different combinations of machines you could build and all of the different pieces especially the pull system with the big wrecking ball at the end! It keeps him entertained for hours and kept his mind working. As a toddler with ad/hd this toy is perfect for him as it can keep his attention for a long period of time I would definitely recommend this toy to other parents!

Gears! Gears! Gears!

It was a great way for my son and I to spend time together plus it was educational without him every realizing it! It is so different from everything we have tried before.
