I would not even give this one star but it’s required. This has been a family favorite for years, but not anymore! It’s nothing like it used to be. There is a weird mix of noodles, which are broken and smaller and turn out gummy and the sauce now tastes too sweet and it all has been cheapened. Whatever company bought it out has ruined it.

For being a microwave dinner it has great flavor and even tastes homemade. The only drawl is it does come in a plastic container so I usually take it out and microwave it on a plate.

Fail. Why change a PERFECT MEAL???!
The five cheese rigatoni is bomb for quick lunches. It acts as a snack for my teens and a perfect lunch for me to take to work. I have purchased 5-7 boxes per week for over a year. The sauce is literally amazing and every time I cook this at work everyone asks what it is- even purchasing it for themselves now too! BUT WHAT HAPPENED???? The noodles are smaller, the sauce changed (when stirred up, it turns into this nasty mushy orange color) and it’s terrible! The noodles were so thick and firm with this amazing bold RED sauce with a sweet kick. This is an ABSOLUTE FAIL. I’m hoping this was an emergency temporary production issue. I’ve been eating frozen lunches for decades (I’m in my 40’s) and the OG rigatoni was easily best frozen dish out there. Super bummed :(

Low effort microwaveable noodles: Something someone wouldn’t necessarily jump up and down at the thought of, but this brand’s rigatoni doesn’t taste bad at all. With that in mind, there’s not much of a taste to it, so it’s fun to doctor up if you have the time and energy for it. It gets four stars instead of three because I have fond memories of these as midnight snacks in high school.
