About the Author

Roy Miki fue un célebre poeta y académico canadiense. Su poesía estuvo marcada por su experiencia como canadiense-japonés de tercera generación, y fue una figura clave en el movimiento para obtener una reparación gubernamental por el encarcelamiento de ciudadanos canadienses de origen japonés durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Roy es recipiendario del Governor General's Literary Award y de la Orden de Canadá.

Slavia Miki trabajó en educación primaria en las escuelas de Vancouver. Tanto Roy como Slavia escribieron el libro ilustrado galardonado, Dolphin SOS, para Tradewind Books.
