Description

Say goodbye to the struggle and strain of opening stubborn jars and bottles thanks to the Swiss-designed Gripper Jar Opener from Kuhn Rikon. The adjustable mechanism locks securely onto lids and caps (and won’t let go!) via a clockwise turn of the front-facing knob. Lids are then released by twisting the opener in the opposite direction. As well as being extremely easy to use, the device is also highly versatile: it will remove any lid or cap between 1 and 3.5 inches in diameter and is suitable for threaded, smooth-sided and grooved jars/caps.

Can’t live without it

I just ordered a second one for my kitchen as my husband, who has dementia, was trying to use it as a can opener and broke one of the gripper tabs. I gave all my family and friends one for Christmas a couple of years ago. Everyone loved it. I do like the one suggestion for some sort of jar holder for larger jars. That would be the cat’s pajamas!

The Best Jar opener

Truly the best jar opener, big and small. Good for a senior, good for a junior. Highly recommend this jar opener over all other. Even opens water bottles!

Works as Promised

This is a great jar opener and works on little lids as well as larger ones. I bought one for myself because my hands have gotten progressively weaker due to arthritis. I am very happy with the fact that it works exactly as advertised and lets me open jars by myself. I purchased a second one for my sister-in-law who has been having great difficulty also. It will be her Christmas present. Thanks for an excellent product!

It actually worked!

The difference between the "Deluxe" gripper and the regular "Gripper" is the handle. The "Gripper" handle is plastic, not solid, and the "Deluxe" handle is solid stainless steel. They both work well. "Very" happy with their performance. Especially when I try to open a jar of "Clausen" pickles.

Works well with caveat

The jar opener works well for a small jar as one hand can hold the jar and the other one can operate the jar opener. However, for a large jar but a weak hand, two hands are needed to operate the jar opener. In that case, no more handle available to hold the jar unless another person is arounf. That's a big issue. Can you design and produce a device that can both attach to the counter top and hold the jar? For the knives, I have not used them yet, therefore I could make any comments.

Deluxe Gripper Jar Opener

Easy to use, it grabs the jar lids, does not slip and next thing you know even those really stubborn jar lids are off.
