Kristie Contemporary Lift Top Coffee Table - Dark Oak/Black - Safavieh

When I purchased this item it was $118.00 ($127.00 tax and shipping), for that price it is worth it IMO ($160 not so much). The "wood" part is extremely cheap, pressed wood? with a printed vinyl paper covering which looks terrible (also darker than shown, more like walnut). I am replacing the pressed wood with real oak (plywood) as everything else is pretty good. Also adding drawers as there is a lot of empty/wasted space. I bought this with the wood replacement and added drawers in mind anyway. So I'm happy. Four stars for the transformation and metal design and ease of assembly (someone not mechanically inclined may have a tough time of it). Two stars for value and quality (metal parts only), the rest zero stars as it's garbage. I only recommend this item for those that have the ability and inclination to do what I am doing so NOT absolutely, but MAYBE. Since only two optional choices are given, either "yes, absolutely" or "nope, no way, not at all". Mine is MAYBE depending.

Looks cheap! Got in mail and didn’t even bother assembling, just returned. Like previous reviewer said; bubbles in contact paper-like laminate on plywood. Spend a little more and get a real table made out of real wood.

This table is a waste of money, wish I had returned before assembling. The instructions are terrible - they only pictures and they are not clear. The wood finish is like wallpaper and had bubbles in certain parts. I will use to get my money worth but I have a feeling I will be replacing within 6 months. I'm pretty disappointed that Target carries this item, especially since I could not see it in the store.
