Our higher gluten bread flour delivers consistent, dependable results. Your choice of flour makes a very big difference in bread baking: flours with a higher protein content create loftier yeasted breads. Our bread flour is 12.7% protein - a full point higher than other national brands. It strengthens the rise, so your breads are lofty and perfectly textured every time. Certified kosher. Use it for all your yeast baking, from bread (including bread machine loaves) to rolls to pizza. Combine it with whole wheat flour to add extra height to dense whole grain baked goods that need a little lift. Higher protein flour like bread flour will absorb more liquid than others. When baking with bread flour, add about 2 teaspoons extra liquid for each cup of flour in order to produce the proper consistency of dough. Flour this good doesn't happen by accident. It's the result of attention to detail, consistency in milling, and our desire to ensure that each and every person has the very best baking experience possible.

Don't use this in your bread machine
I made two attempts to use this flour in my bread machine. It failed miserably. The first time I thought maybe I had done something wrong so I tried again. Followed all the instructions, including adding extra water. Both times I ended up with a lump of dough that never rose, and I had to throw them away.

CONTAINS WHEAT!!
Due to my own stupidity I ate a generous amount of this bread flour because it’s gluten free right? The artisan loaves baked up nice after following the recipe on the packaging. However I was not aware that it still contains WHEAT. Two bread loaves later and I’m wondering why my symptoms came back. The culprit was the hidden WHEAT in this flour. Eat at your own risk.

Ive used measure-for-measure for years now for all of my baking needs. I've tried other brands and they all irritate my celiac symptoms. I wanted to try make bread at home and decided to take recommendations from your site and try the bread flour (gf). I tried the recipe 3x and used the entire bag in one day. All failures. It didnt work for me. No rise. Too dense. Etc. Etc.

CONTAINS WHEAT
Beware! This product says gluten free but it still contains wheat starch if you are sensitive to wheat or allergic as am I. It should have a disclaimer on the front. I purchased online and didn’t bother to read the ingredients assuming it would be wheat free.

BE CAREFUL CELIACS
This bread flour has WHEAT STARCH in it. Under the ingredients, it says the FDA can label it gluten-free because of the "processing" of the wheat starch. I wouldn't trust it if you have celiac disease.

Target has them best prices and availability
Makes exactly three loaves if you weigh the flour. The bread recipe on the back works perfectly and my family said it is as good as my usual homemade NYT No knead bread. The helpful tips on the top of there packaging are so handy if you making another recipe instead of the one from the bag. All around excellent product and it will bring me in to target weekly now because it is the best price by far.
