Description
Totem is an award-winning design that combines all your waste and recycling in one compact unit. It features two compartments arranged vertically, which saves space and makes them very easy to fill and empty. Each compartment has a removable bucket that can be fitted with a single standard liner for general waste or two smaller bags, using the integrated bag hooks, for separating different types of recycling. Breather vents in the bucket sides make removing a full liner easier. Totem also features a ventilated odor filter in the main lid that helps reduce moisture and odor build up from waste. The design comes with a 3-litre (0.8 US Gallon) removable food waste caddy that can be stored in either compartment, or on the worktop. Stylish, practical and durable, Totem is available in two sizes – Totem Max (60 litres/15.8 US Gallons) and Totem Compact (40 litres/10.5 US Gallons). Custom-fit liners for the main compartments and compostable liners for the food waste caddy are available separately, as are replaceable odor filters. Stainless-steel versions feature a fingerprint-proof coating, whilst other models feature an easy-clean powder-coated steel finish. Choose the right custom-fit liner: IW2 and IW6

Stylish bin
This is very nice looking and well made bin. It has a good capacity. The lower (recycling section) glides in-and-out in a satisfying way. If I have any grumbles, it would be that I think there should be a 'holder' to store the liners at the back of the bin (I had a SimpleHuman bin, which stored the liners in the back and you could pull them through when you took the full liner out. . . great design!)

In love with the Totem Max 60L
I love my new bin. It is slightly more compact than my previous one but still holds 60l. I had my previous bin(same make) For 10 years. They are so well made & robust. They make recycling so easy. I would recommend them to everyone . My friends think I’m a bit crazy to be so excited about a bin!!!! I also buy the Joseph’s bin liners & compost bags for this bin as again they are very strong & donot tear.

Great flexibility
A great option for multiple recycling. My council collects paper separately from cans & plastic so the normal 2 tall compartment bin doesn’t work. The short wide bins mean I can put a divider in the bottom section of this so can do paper, plastic, general waste and compost in a single sensible sized bin.

Sadly pessimistic…
The bins and the outer are good quality and the colour (Grey) suits our kitchen to a tee. Unfortunately I’m just waiting on the lid to break as this is now the third of these bins we’ve had in just under four years, and the previous two the lids have broken at the hinge in exactly the same way. The previous design of lid on smaller Totem was more robust, and you could buy spares if they break (but they don’t).

Nice design but could improve.
Bought this as a replacement for a much loved Joseph Joseph bin. Some improvement in design but I feel the bottom bin could sit a bit better. It’s very loose and doesn’t sit square all the time over the top bin, there’s also a bigger gap between the top and bottom bin.

Very happy with this bin
Really love the fact that the food waste bin sits inside the bin itself. It’s a very simple design but very good for cleaning. There’s no little gaps where dirt gets trapped.

Great bin that looks stylish
Great bin that looks stylish and practical but the rolling opening mechanism at the back of the bin has gouges in the metal which is disappointing . Too much effort to return it .
