Looks perfect on the porch over my deck. Was looking for something that looked vintage and appealed to me and this hit the spot on both accounts. Easy to assemble and easy to install.

I agree with some of the other reviews. This item is clearly not galvanized though it sure does look like it. However when you look at the inside of this fixture's base, you can see the finish is different. So because of this misrepresentation, I have to knock off one star. That being said, it is really a nice solid well made light fixture, I bought two of these and the installation was actually easier that almost any I've ever done. And as a professional, I've installed a countless number over the years. The mounting plate is a slotted disk as opposed to a swiveling "X" as with most other light fixtures. This provides a much more stable base on which to mount. Once wired and mounted, all that's left is to pick a light bulb. At first I popped in small diameter 60w equivalent Edison style LEDs. I went with the smaller size based on one review which said the glass cover was too narrow to accept a normal sized bulb. Not true. The Edisons looked OK but weren't quite bright enough for my needs. I replaced them with 100w equivalent daylight CFLs with no issues whatsoever fitting the wider bulb diameter. That person must have tried to stick in a flood light bulb or something. And you know what else. The whitish light of the CFL actually compliments the "galvanized" finish of this fixture. Now attaching the glass dome and cage was as easy as pie because there were no fussy little screws to mess with. Each of these two pieces is threaded so they just twist up into place. The glass dome also has a small rubber seal which I suppose may be sufficient enough to seal out bugs. But even if it isn't, just twist off the cage and then the glass and dump it out. I mean, if the need should ever arise. In summary, a beautiful light fixture with a better than average build quality. I'm just a little annoyed about it not actually being galvanized but being passed off as so. Not cool.

A bit more light weight than I had imagined but it is still good quality and looks great.

A rubber gasket would improve the stability of the fixture once we mounted it. Without a gasket we have more “play” in it than I prefer

Love this light. It was recently featured in Country Living magazine as porch lighting g for a “relaxed” look. It’s made very well as it has a glass dome that encases the light and the metal cover fits over the glass. Gives good light coverage for safety.
