This knife is extremely sharp. For such a high price I would expect it to be. This is probably the last knife you'll ever need to own. It does such a great job slicing through veggies. The quality is nice and it has a sturdy feel to it. It has a good weight and the handle is easy to hold. The packaging could be better. Be careful when removing it from the box! It would have been nice if there was a sheath for the knife rather than a box. Overall, this is the best knife I've ever used.

This knife has a very clean look and is more than I personally need out of a chef knife. Comes plenty sharp straight of the box and looks great. Comfortable handle and feels great in the hand.

The knife comes in a nice sturdy box with plastic guards on the tips, and the edge is razor sharp. The knife is very solidly built, has a good weight to it, and a very pleasant grip making it easy to have good knife safety. It was tested on chicken and vegetables, and the knife felt very smooth to cut with. I can easily recommend this knife as an excellent multi-purpose knife to anyone who enjoys cooking.

This imarku Chef Knife is a very superior kitchen tool. This knife is very sharp, and cuts very well. It also fits into the hand very ergonomically, and I feel very confident using it, as it makes any cutting job so much easier. A very lovely addition to my kitchen. The price is higher than I would ever pay for a knife, but this knife is excellent quality, and I think I will gradually replace all my knifes with the imarku brand. I highly recommend it.

This knife is awesome! Razor-sharp blade effortlessly cuts through the toughest meat and minces to perfection. If you've never treated yourself to a high-quality knife before, then this is a great starting point. It comes in a nice box which I use to store the knife when not in use. The blade runs through the handle (full tang) creating excellent balance and also a sturdier product. I really love using this knife.

Such a great knife. Be very careful though, it is super sharp. Itas made meal prepping so much easier and nicer (in that the slices are so much finer and the cuts are just more professional). After use I saw a smudge on the blade so I used my shirt to remove it and it made a whole in my shirt! The fabric barely touched the blade but it was enough to cut a whole in my favorite band shirt :( lol. Really nice knife, get one.

This is a great knife. I'm no chef, but I enjoy cooking. Tonight I cut up 3 whole chickens and prepped mirepoix for bone broth. This knife handled all of it very well and in record time. The carrots cut easier than I've experienced, and breaking down the chicken was easy. The knife is so sharp, I didn't cry at all while dicing the onions. The knife has a good weight and is comfortable to use; the balance is good and hand fatigue was reduced compared to my other knives. The metal contours where the blade meets the handle, so it is less likely to get meat juices stuck in a crevice within that blade-to-handle area as I've experienced when trying to clean other knives. This knife is well worth the price.

I am so happy I got this knife. The steel goes through to the end of the handle, it is very sharp. I did a paper test and it cut through a piece of copy paper beautifully. This has sped up my food prep because the cuts are so clean. It came packaged in a box that could easily be used to give as a gift. It's honestly the only chef knife I'll use right now. Love it.

This knife cuts thru meat and vegetables like butter! Beautiful detail on the knife blade and on the handle. The weight and balance are perfect. I also have a set of Viking steak knives that I use regularly. These are comparable in quality. This blade will last a lifetime! Highly recommended

This thing is legit! It's insanely sharp and cuts with ease. I do wish it would have came with a sheath or something to protect the blade while it was in the drawer. I'm no knife expert but it feels balanced and it's just the right weight.

This knife is beautifully packaged, especially as a gift for the holidays. Is sharp and balanced weighted well, feels good in the hand. I appreciate that it comes with some instructions on exactly what areas of the knife to use for different things.

My spouse is an amazing cook. We have a wide variety of international dishes prepared from scratch with as many locally sourced ingredients as she can find. I've been her go-to guy for sharpening her tools; so I understand how much that makes a difference in ease, effort, and safety. These are her observations about this knife after a full day of use for our meals: "It is very sharp." "It has a nice weight to it. Enough to cut well; but not so heavy to make it difficult to wield." "The handle is large enough to grip easily. My wife has been using this knife a couple of weeks now; and she tells be several times a day how much she loves her new knife. I believe her, because she got the smaller size too after just a couple of days using this one. The only disappointment is that it does not come with its own blade guard for storage. My wife found good blade guards for her 2; and that takes care of the one downside for her. But, over all; she really, really, likes using these knives.

I really need to pay more attention when I order. My reason for removing a star Itas not a genuine aSantokua knife: itas made in China and designed in California. For me an authentic Japanese chefas or kitchen knife comes from, and is crafted in Japan. Aside from that, here are the things I like: aitas a great size for all around knife work in prepping or even carving roasts. aIt has a pleasing weight and balance; the blade to handle weight ratio is good. aThereas a leaflet included that shows what kind of wood is used in the handle; in this case, pakkawood. Definition: Pakkawood is made from a base material of hardwood veneers like plywood and is then infused with a plastic resin to create a wood/resin composite material. You are also instructed how to care for your knife. aPresentation is pleasing and consistent with most other premium knives. Will make a good gift for the home cook. One final note: if youave bought fancier semi pro Japanese knives in the past, the blade decorations are always an extra bonus. However, this blade is much more utilitarian. And I plan to put it through its paces to see how long it retains its edge.
