Q: Why would cat food need an added color?

  • A: It really doesn't. However, after much research with pet owners and even some of our own IAMS users, we discovered a few years ago that a wide margin of people associated kibble that is all brown in color as being all carbs, fried carbs in fact, and essentially less healthy. We wanted to change that perception of our recipes but didn't want to add bright artificial color dyes. So we instead opted to add some variety by creating a two-tone kibble with caramel coloring from natural sources.

Great for cats without teeth.

My cat loves this brand. He had to have all his teeth taken out about four years ago because of the allergy he had to his own teeth and can’t chew now so he needs soft food. This one has good nutritional value for him so I order it online from target every month Makes life really easy. My cat is 11 years old and it makes his life easy too. I love my cat with all my heart.

Great food Slimey Marketing

Cats love this, HATE the Cuts version. Unfortunately, the Slimey Trolls in Marketing and Accounting WILL NOT sell this by the case! I have to purchase a dozen packs of something else that neither I nor my cats want to get a dozen packs of something that we do want! Thankfully, there are Retailers that will separate the cartons and sell individually but at a substantially higher price.

Skippy will only eat Iam’s! Whenever I put out other wet food he could care less but when the Iam’s comes out he goes crazy.

Low protein content.

I bought this food on sale but there wasn’t any nutrition information on the package. On a vet blog they wrote that cats need 30-50% protein content in the food ideally so I’m disappointed to see it’s so low here.

Too small

How is it a "perfect portion" if an average 10 lb cat would need .... 6 -8 packs per day (based on 3-4 recommended per 5 lbs)? I have five cats so am I supposed to buy 30-40 per day?
