More toward recreation and light commuting than carrying items
This is the lightest bike I have ever had. Total weight is fantastic, and it shows in the easy pedaling.. Took it out today to test, the first nice day of spring, and rode almost 15 miles without any training after the long winter, and with a moderate wind. Fantastic riding bike. Easy to assemble, all the pieces and tools came with, and the instruction book was adequate for a moderate user. Some drawbacks: no kick stand, not a big deal, but anyone wanting to set this very light bike anywhere will need to prop it up against something. Also, there is a single mounting point for a back rack on the rear wheel frame, not the tradition 4 point screw mounts of most commercial back racks. Since I commute and need a place to put things, the back rack mount is a must. Not a deal breaker, since a seat post clamp with the mounting points could be an option. I got the large frame version, and wish the handlebars went up just a bit more. I feel like I am crouching forward a bit more than my other bikes, but that could be my imagination from not biking for so long. No front suspension means any road noise will translate directly into the wrists of any riders that lean heavily on the handlebars, like I do. I will add softer handlebar grips to make it more comfortable. Quality feels good, the brakes and shifters worked perfectly out of the box, and with a simple oil up the bike was ready to go.
