Personal blender with 2 cups

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For my usage patterns, this personal blender is perfect. I use it to make smoothies that mainly consist of leafy greens, soft (bananas) or small frozen fruits (blueberries), and powders (matcha, ginger, tumeric, etc...) so the motor and blades aren't really taxed. Greens are blended up pretty well, but there are often small bits that haven't been completely liquefied (but nothing that would get in the way of drinking it easily). I do like the idea of the travel lid, but in practice if I overfill the blender, liquid does seep out while blending, so I'm skeptical of it being something you can throw in a bag to take on the go, though I can see it easily traveling in a cup holder. I also like the twist and lock mechanism for this blender. I have another personal blender from Hamilton Beach that you just place down on the base to blend (no twisting and locking) and I often have to adjust slightly to make sure it's seated properly before blending. The twist and lock just feels more secure to me. Having the two travel cups is a nice bonus for me, but not a necessity, but I can see how it would be more practical if you're making multiples smoothies at a time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Hamilton Beach Smoothie Blender with 2 Travel jars and lids and have been experimenting with different drinks. It is perfect for smoothies and shakes. I personally love flavored iced coffees but my son loves smoothies. Since it comes with 2 blender jars and lids: I can make what I want and my son can make what he wants. We just put on the travel lids and go off to work or errands. It very versatile, easy to clean and easy to use. (dishwasher safe)

I have other blenders at the house, but this one is definitely used the most. It is a great space saver and can be placed on the counter without occupying a large space. This blender is very easy for my older children to use, and they enjoy making healthy smoothies. I didn't realize how much use it would get but each family member uses it for different reasons. The blender works with a simple button and make very smooth drinks. You can use ice and chunks or fruit and all works well. The two jars and lids make it great for multiple drinks and travel. The only thing to watch is that the lids fit but are not completely spill-proof, so I try to make sure my kids are careful when transporting their drinks.

It's easy to store in my small kitchen but large enough to make a good sized portion for my early morning smoothie. It's also great for an iced coffee in the afternoon (I save any extra morning coffee and blend it with milk, ice and flavored syrup. Yum!) I haven't tried it for chopping small amounts of vegetables but I have no doubts that it would be up to the job.

What I really loved was that it had two cups so it was great that both my husband and I could use it and take the travel cups with us to work. For its size, it is a powerful blender. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The blender it self works really well. I was not sure how such a small blade would do, but it blended the ice and frozen fruit really well. You just have to add sufficient amount of liquid. It was definitely sturdier than I thought it would be. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because you are unable to remove the blade from the container. I have only used it a few times and it seems to be clean, but it is very difficult to get underneath the blades. Unsure if other foods may be harder to clean. Also, although the container is made well I do not like that I am drinking out of a container with blades at the bottom. That being said I would still use this as a blender if I am just making smoothies for me and one other person.

It was super simple to set up, and first smoothie came out perfect. I love it for mornings when I’m rushing off to work, just pop in the ingredients and blend and breakfast to go. I use this a few times a week.
