The pieces are bright, colorful, and perfectly sized for little hands, which immediately caught her attention. She had a lot of fun mixing and matching the axolotlsl. I love that it’s not only entertaining but also helps with memory, focus, and problem-solving skills in a playful way. The rules are simple enough for young kids to understand, but still engaging so they don’t lose interest. Overall, it’s a well-made, high-quality game that combines fun with learning. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product, Mixalotl, is a fun and creative family game centered on “animated transformation.” The goal is to collect animal transformation cards to create the funniest and most unexpected combinations. It comes with a Mixalotl figurine, 20 transformation cards (10 top halves and 10 bottom halves), and 24 tokens (12 sheep, 12 frog). Again, it’s fun - my kids love it and it’s entertain to watch them try to sound the animals out . I would purchase again for smaller children . My son is 7 and still enjoyed

Sweet and Simple, Traditional and Modern
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My children and I are so mesmerized with the Mixalotl Matching Game from HABA. Not only are the illustrations so sweet and gentle, but the whole game is simple to setup and still challenging for me as the parent. I like that Mixalotl challenges the traditional matching games and also gets kids excited with the Axolotl main character. I have a 4 and 7-year-old and I’d say this is certainly more challenging for my 4-year-old, but my 7-year-old still had a lot of fun playing it. My recommendation would be to play with close age groups to make sure no one gets frustrated. I also like that you could turn this into a traditional matching game if you wanted. The quality of the game pieces, the gentle art and colors, and the minimal plastic packaging make Mixalotl by HABA a great addition for the modern family.

Fast, fun game for whole family
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Played with my 3 years old boy and he loved it. The packaging is cute and simple. The game comes with easy instructions and example to follow. This game doesn’t like the traditional matching game, instead you have to be fast to shout out the animal’s sound right after the card is being picked up in order to win. A bit confused at first but it becomes easy and fun when you get the hang of it. It’s definitely a fun game for the whole family to play together. Highly recommend.

Versatile game play
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game was a fun way to mix up a regular matching game. At first the directions were a little difficult to understand but after playing a few times we were able to figure out what we did wrong. I will say if you have younger kids it may be best to play a less competitive version of this game as my 4 year old daughter got frustrated playing with her older sisters. However she quickly caught on. She even came up with a way to match the animals instead of making silly combinations. I feel like this can definitely be a versatile game and can help expand imagination as well as learning animal sounds and matching and playing together. I also liked how the instruction manual had several languages too and not only English and Spanish. I would definitely consider getting another game from this company.

Quick and Fun Game

My only complaint is that its hard for my child to determine the animal bodies quickly. Maybe should have color coated the backgrounds to make it easier for the smaller kids.
