Graco TrueCoat 360 VS, great sprayer, easy to use!
I bought the Truecoat 360 VS TrueAirless Paint Sprayer on 11/20/2025 to touchup and repaint some kitchen cabinet doors and drawer fronts I made for my sisters' kitchen. I originally painted the cabinet drawer fronts and doors with my Graco Magnum X7 TrueAirless Paint Spayer and noticed some defects after the paint was applied and decided to touchup and repaint some of them after doing some trimming and modifications and did not feel like buying another two or five gallons of paint and break out the Magnum X7, so I bought the handheld TrueCoat 360 VS. I like how easy it is to fill, and setup and cleanup is a breeze. The spray quality is not quite as fine as the Magnum X7, but it is close. I was looking at some less expensive brands from the touchup but ultimately decided to bite the bullet for the Graco due to personal experience with your brand. It would be nice if the spray tips were interchangeable between the models though. The TrueCoat 360 VS did a great job; the paint went on evenly and flowed out smoothly after a few minutes, nearly matching the finish of its big brother sprayers. My arm did get tired after spraying several pieces due to the weight of the sprayer and paint, but I have had surgery on my wrist, three surgeries on my elbow, rotator cuff surgery and I have a torn bicep, all on the same arm, despite all that I still found it manageable. The sprayer is a great deal for the money and produces great results, I would definitely recommend to friends and family!

Best purchase I've made all year
I have had a Graco Magnum XR7 for years. I picked up a SureCoat 360 Variable speed to see how it would handle spraying Sherwin Williams Emerald Enamel on smaller jobs. Boy was I surprised. This little gun handled the jobs with perfection. The variable speed helps control the gun for different viscosities with accuracy.

Small size with great results
This is my first handheld airless sprayer. Easy to use with fast cleaning. Sprayed a gallon of latex exterior paint refilling the sprayer 4 times. Easier than pulling out the full size sprayer for a gallon of paint. Spray results were great.

Awful and heavy
Used once! It’s awful! Too much overspray, it’s like painting with a cinder block in your hand it’s so heavy, very difficult to clean, not good for painting indoors at all! I wish I would have never bought it! Awful product!

Hi RobbC, We are sorry to hear about your experience with the TrueCoat 360 Variable Speed. With a full quart of paint, the sprayer does weigh 7 to 8 pounds. (FYI, cinder blocks weigh about 30-35 pounds.) To cut down on overspray, we recommend verifying that the paint you are spraying is compatible with a 0.015 inch tip. Also, make sure you are not using more pressure than needed to adequately atomize the paint. -KR

Not as precise control over spray quality
I already own a Graco X5 that completed two outbuildings with impressive results. I thought the project painter would be better for small jobs - indoors - like one room. I tried the Project Painter on my deck first, with stain, and the result was not impressive even on the highest "speed", the pressure/dispersion is nowhere near as fine or precise as the X5, and I'm glad I was outdoors, on a deck, when It didn't matter as much as it would if it were my bedroom - - - so I guess I'll drag the X5 indoors and make it work.

Hello Joseph25, We are sorry to hear about your experience with TrueCoat 360 Variable Speed. Some deck coatings can be too thick for the TrueCoat 360 family of sprayers. To ensure the sprayer will work with the coating, check on the back of the can of paint or stain to see what the manufacturer recommends for a tip size in the airless sprayer application section. For the TrueCoat 360s, you will want to make sure the coating is compatible with a 0.015 inch spray tip. -KR

Used it on outside shed for first time. There is a learning curve. I found that if I thin the paint it performs better. Have another outside job to practice on then I will be ready for some furniture jobs. Happy so far

Sprayer
After my initial use, I found the product easy to use. In the beginning, however, the entire process of setting up the sprayer with the stain followed by the clean-up was a little cumbersome. Nevertheless, I soon figured it out and it works great!

Buyer beware
Not good where a quality finish is desired, doors, cabs, etc. would be good for a fence or patio furniture or something. It pulsates too much and the finish isn’t even and smooth.

Pain to clean up oil-based stain
I purchased this for paint and stain. Application was ok but cleanup after using an oil-based stain was a nightmare. The instructions said to use soap and water. Duh! I knew better. The amount of small crevices on the body of the gun and small parts made this cleanup a nightmare. The stain could not be completely removed from strainer used to fill the gun. The stem cannot be removed from the strainer so I’ll need to buy a new part or risk flecks of brown stain making it into future paint projects which will be latex white paint. The cup does not hold enough material so frequent, messy refilling was required. The funnel needs to be wider. I transferred stain from the can into a smaller plastic container then into the cup/sprayer. The tips and unclogging design are effective. The sprayer applies an uneven pattern which required brushing after to remove sags and drips. Overall, a toss-up whether using this sprayer saved time and worked better than brushing. I have an help gun with a pressure pot. Cleanup on the at is a pain also but no more painful than cleanup of this sprayer which claim to make the process easy. Your mileage may vary.

85 year old shingle siding made great.
We bought this to help my son and daughter inlaw to paint their 85 year old home exterior. I used it first to test the setup and was pleased with the results. We left it with them to continued the painting. We were tickeled to hear our daughter inlaw described how amazing it was to use! She could not stop smiling especially after several days of painting by brush. Nice to bring joy into others lives! Productive and quality results from novice users.

A little dissapointed
I have owned and used Graco sprayers in a painting and contracting business. I know their products to work well and last. While I have a new large airless sprayer, I bought this unit to spray smaller areas. There are a few necessary tasks that must be performed prior to spraying but once you've done it a couple of times it is second nature. I sprayed one door, and it applied the paint evenly and the finish was factory beautiful. Sadly though, that was the good news. The bad news is a few minutes into spraying a wall the sprayer quit spraying and started making a growling noise. I returned the sprayer and painted the project by hand. A note to the designers: The spray pot is a little small especially after priming. I'd like the sprayer to have an attachment line to a gallon paint bucket with a primer bulb.

Works good
I just recently purchased this and I have only used it once to paint a cabinet that I built. It did a good job. It’s a lot easier and quicker than using my big airless sprayer

It works ok and can be a bit finicky. Cleaning and ensuring it remains unclogged is a chore.

Professional Results
This is a great product. I used it to paint my kitchen cabinets and the results are near perfect. Having the right paint helps but application is just as important. Only downside side is like all airless sprayers it goes though a lot of paint so have a lot on hand.
