Graco Read-with-Me 3 Drawer Chest with Bookshelves and Removable Changing Topper

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This changing table / dresser is so versatile and nice. It has a removable changing table set up on top! I love the color and it is very sturdy! Price was good and it is such a good product!

Tl;dr - Good looks obfuscate cheap construction and potentially DANGEROUS inadequate wall mounting solution Pros: - It looks beautiful in my son's nursery Cons: - Assembly took over an hour and a half - required tightening awkwardly sized and positioned pocket bolts - Drawer construction feels flimsy - the bottoms of the drawers are very thin and if fully loaded, I have no confidence that they're up to the challenge of storing all of my child's clothing and supplies - Drawer hardware is incredibly cheap. The slides feel awful and have a lot of 'slop' to them - Despite being packed with enough styrofoam to completely fill TWO contractor bags, some panels still arrived scuffed. The damage was superficial/aesthetic only - but still disappointing. IMPORTANT: The manufacturer rightfully notes that in order to be safe for children, this piece NEEDS to be secured to a wall. The included hardware to do so is WHOLLY INADEQUATE to accomplish this safely. To secure the dresser to the wall, the manufacturer supplies two plastic brackets (one to be attached to the wall, into a stud, and the other to be placed on the back of the dresser) and then supplies two ZIP TIES to secure the two brackets to each other. This dresser is over 100 pounds heavy when fully assembled BEFORE you add anything to the drawers. I tested the "security straps" (i.e. the zip ties) by gently tipping the dresser away from the wall and both zip ties IMMEDIATELY snapped. Clearly the manufacturer didn't even test their mounting solution before packaging it - this is incredibly dangerous and I encourage parents to look elsewhere for a dresser. If you HAVE already bought this unit PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE invest in a third party solution to secure it to the wall.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We really love this multi purpose dresser! First off, it is HEAVY. It’s very sturdy. The drawers are large and it is very cute in our one year olds room! It is big enough to fit his clothes and then some. The bookshelf sides are awesome for extra storage. We enjoy the drawer safety mechanism as well. The ONLY thing I can say that isn’t positive is that the assembly was a bit difficult but we managed to get it done, haha. Definitely would recommend!

It's not made of a flimsy, can't move it once assembles without it breaking, material. Very easy to put together and I love the added touch of the bookshelves on the sides!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the perfect dresser for a nursery and will grow with your child when they are out of the diaper phase as well. The dresser has three large drawers for storage. I love the fact that if you have one drawer open you are unable to open any of the other drawers. This helps keep the weight balanced and hopefully prevent children climbing up and potentially toppling it over on themselves. The top has a changing table piece that can easily be removed without any sign it was ever there -screws in on the back. (Changing pad not included). Also love that both of the sides have two racks for book storage or even some smaller stuffed animals. Even though the dresser appears to be more for infants with the changing table you could use this for years to come and even for college. The changing table piece is the last piece added when putting together so can easily skip those steps. The step by step directions were easy to follow and able to put together by myself in a couple hours.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dresser is amazing. It is mostly made of solid wood (pine) and has bookshelves on both sides. A few pieces are made of wood composite, but it is nicer than what I’m used to seeing because it is very dense. The bookshelves are built into the dresser so they cannot be taken off. I honestly prefer it like that because it helps protect against tipping over. Each shelf can hold tall books (like sound books for toddlers) and thick textbooks. The drawers are pretty deep and slide easily. We haven’t had any issues with them getting stuck. There is a changing table on top that is removable. Since the changing table is removable, it is easy for the dresser to “grow” with your child. I can honestly see a college student using this dresser to store their clothes and textbooks while living in a dorm. My favorite part is that you can only use one drawer at a time. My son loves to climb furniture, so having something like that is crucial. The box it came in was packed really well. Each piece was tightly packed in between styrofoam so there were no scratches or broken pieces. The instructions were easy to follow and it took about 45 minutes to put together. The only downside (if you can call it that) is just how heavy it is. This is definitely a dresser that is going to last decades.

My biggest issue, the assembly took hours, hundreds of pieces and the directions were horrible. The safety feature is nice for small kids but makes opening the drawers sound like chains banging together. Wonderful product with some minor issues.
