While scoring is the same for these boards (1 point on the board and 3 points in the hole), game play is slightly different because of the lightweight materials used. Bags will bounce on the boards and may not slide the same as wood sets, but once you get used to the different style of play, they are a BLAST to use. We are sure some cornholers will complain that this set cannot provide the traditional Cornhole experience, but these are made as a highly portable Cornhole option for people who don't want to bring out their full size set (beach, camping, younger kids, etc.).
