The new model is GARBAGE
Why did they stop making this one? It was a beast! The newer model is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. Spills easily when emptying, didn’t even last 3 months. I only got rid of the older model because I loved 1600 miles by plane. You can tell the newer one is garbage right out of the box, just feels cheap. Thumbs down, GE.

Functions but capacity small
We were replacing a larger capacity unit with this unit and it is much small and has to be emptied twice as much

Awesome product
This dehumidifier was purchased for a maternity home. We were having issues with moisture in the basement to the point of causing musty smell in multiple rooms of basement. It has taken care of the problem and keeps the basement at a perfect 40% humidity. I was suffering from allergy related issues due to mold and moisture build up and no longer having those concerns.

Quiet operation
We have an older GE dehumidifier that has been working great for ten plus years, so when we needed a second one, we wanted to stick with GE. It is a nice looking unit. The fan has three speeds. Low is whisper quiet, medium and high slightly less so.

Old GE model ran almost constantly for 8 years before the Freon gave out. Might still be using but the cost of getting that old type of Freon on the black market meant cheaper to buy a new one. Been using for a week now and it’s super quiet compared to my old one which got pretty loud when the compressor kicked on. Nice new design and works like a charm. Will update review in future if any issues arise, but so far so good.

GE Dehumidifiers are great!
This dehumidifier joins another higher capacity GE dehumidifier in my home. This smaller unit is perfect for our primary en-suite to get rid of the moisture after showers and when the weather is mild but humid. The larger unit works well to dehumidifier the rest of the house during those muggy times of the year. Definitely recommended these appliances for those who are sensitive to humidity.

A Great Product
We purchased this product after our first GE dehumidifier malfunctioned. Living in the southern US we do get quite a bit of humidity. This product makes such a difference. It is a great product that we will continue to use for the foreseeable future.

Easy set up, be sure to push the filter inside in place. It took my very humid basement to 40% humidity in about 36 hours. So far so good.
