A: Well, considering this hair color is the ULTRA COOL PLATINUM (not the Ultra Light Platinum referenced above by Garnier smh lol) which is their Lightest Platinum shade available.... 40 volume probably!

Ultra Light Platinum is best for anyone with natural hair between light brown and dark brown. For people with currently color treated hair, there are special considerations for the color result you can achieve. Because of this, we do not recommend shade PL1 or PL2 for hair that has been previously colored shade 80 “Medium Blonde,” or darker. Also, not recommended for heavily highlighted or relaxed hair. I was looking for a dark, very dark purple - like the picture on the box depicts. It came out this orangey, pinky, red. I hate it and am immediately going out to buy a different brand to try to cover up this heinous color.

Spots on my head- saturated my virgin color hair-
I did my test strand the night before today. It turned out great. I did my hair today and it was spotted all over my hair- I saturated it during color on my virgin hair coloring. I got blond spots- i put it on my entire head and ended up with spots. Help please

V2 Purple is NOT purple, turned out pink/red.
I got color V2 purple, I was happy to see a purple dye in permanent since other brands wash out in 2-3 washes. I followed instructions and I am not happy. I wanted purple hair. It’s a pink red color. Nowhere near purple. I’m so confused why you guys market a purple dye and it doesn’t even come close to purple at all. I just dyed it so I don’t know if it fades quickly. But I do NOT recommend this. I should have read other reviews first cause I’m not the only one with this problem. Now I’m stuck with something I didn’t want. Very disappointed and won’t be buying this brand again. Do you guys even test your products before putting them in market?

this stuff works backward
usually when I bleach my hair it comes out a brassy blonde , then I use the purple conditioner to get rid of the brassy , then its a pure platinum white, well not this time , when I bleached it , it was really white, so I then I used the purple conditioner and and now it turned a golden color,,,, real golden , like I bright yellow , this has never happened before, lucky I had some real good purple shampoo and conditioner ( BOLD UNIQ ) , I got it back to an off white,

Color on the box needs to be assessed.
The box color does NOT match the color that comes out on your hair. I was going for a dark purple. Then ended up with magenta hair. This has been the craziest experience ever.

Do not buy unless you want yellow hair. Did lift my brown hair so if you have a toner you’re set. But the box is misleading. Your hair will not be platinum, it will be yellow.

Unfortunately didn't read the reviews until after dying my hair. I should've known something was off when the dye was RED in the bottle. No hint of purple anywhere! This is ridiculous, this color needs pulled from shelves!!

I would give it 0 stars if I could, this does not work at all. My hair is the weirdest shade of pink imaginable. Would rather use splat, would never buy again. If you want freaky pinkish red hair, that doesn't fade, then this is the perfect shade for you. If you wanna look like a sad clown, late to a birthday party, then would definitely recommend. Never wasting my time or my money on any more products from this company again.

New garnier formula is not good
The R3 light intense auburn was so much better with the old formula so disappointed they changed it to this new ultra whatever color it’s too red not even a light auburn looking color Anymore use the old R3 for years and now I had no choice but to switch and look for my old R3 in different brands sooooo far it’s going on a year and still can’t find anything close to there old brand colors so I OFFICIALLY GIVE UP ON GARNIER BRAND after trying multiple different of there now new formula colors it’s a bummer they had the formula so well and they changed it on us it’s not even remotely close to the colors it was before there so ugly now

Packaging is deceiving
My daughter has dark brown hair, and I have light brown hair. We both used this product, and our results were the same - orange. Neither of us got anywhere near some kind of blonde, let alone platinum blonde. I understand results will vary, but ours were way off. Very disappointing.
