The HRM 600 is a highly regarded heart rate monitor that offers impressive data accuracy and a range of features, making it ideal for serious athletes. Guests appreciate its ability to track workouts independently from a watch and the rechargeable battery, which eliminates the need for constant battery replacements. However, some guests have raised concerns about the device's mounting system and initial tightness, which may lead to difficulties in detaching it from the strap.

New HRM 600-so far so good
My 3 year old HRM Pro Plus stopped working (likely due to my sweat and overuse) and they don't make them any longer. I saw that the HRM600 was the newest model. It's almost like they went back to the past as this one has a snap in module similar to what I had way back when with the HRM Dual (which still works, but didn't have all the newer features). In any event, I received it 3 weeks ago, and its easy to pair with my Forerunner watch. Pairing it with my rower wasn't as easy, but one quick phone call and we figured it out. Now its seamless getting a signal and I still haven't had to charge the module. Overall, very pleased having a working chest strap for my rows, runs and rides.

Old man needs accurate HR monitor
Seems to be just what I needed. I can now trust the heart rate recorded for my workouts. I tend to run to achieve a given heart rate for my runs. The HRM 600 gives me the confidence that I am getting accurate readings.

Finally rechargeable
Very happy to have a rechargeable HRM. The manual is terse. Says to refer to other devices on how to pair which makes it frustrating to have to dig out an owner’s manual from 2 years ago when these didn’t exist. Trial and error method is easier. Wish they could just make it readable in one source.

Last time using garmin
After spending 2 hours today looking for my HRM I realized that this is a constant thing with HR monitors even in the best of times I still probably spend 5-10 minutes a week just looking for my HR monitor and this is time I could spend running so when I am running I kind of expect it to be accurate on treadmills so I can get good running stats and it would also be nice if this device synced easily to my phone and my watch was able to upload activities quickly via garmin connect. Instead I often find myself spending a few minutes making sure my HR monitor is connected to my watch prior to running and then spending more time after a run making sure my runs upload to strava and on top of that garmin wants me to pay extra money for a connect plus subscription? It’s laughable really, I switched to coros six months ago because I wanted better UI and ease of use but realized that coros has subpar maps so I got the HR monitor and powered up my instinct 2 wanting to get back into garmin but after a couple uses I’m already done. Returning this to REI and I guess just going back to running without a strap or watch like we used to back in the old days.

Not overly impressed
Bought this HRM 600 with hopes of using my garmin 530 to stream my heart rate live to ensure I stayed in specific zones during training rides, but after more than 6 attempts with my garmin 530 and 10 attempts to use while on trainer streaming to my iPad separately, I have failed to see the data properly. (It so small and insignificant on garmin connect app when it does actually work and I have yet to see it on the data screen on my garmin 530 despite many attempts following garmin instructions) It hasn’t worked for my intended use and I’m disappointed. If all you need is hindsight heart rate data about a workout you start on your phone and stop after then review it is great otherwise it’s not of any use.

Replacement for HRM-PRO; a few improvements
This was purchased as a replacement for an HRM-PRO that started to exhibit the same failure mode every Garmin strap I've ever had eventually has -- it posts up heart rate readings at the start of an activity that are literally impossible (e.g. 220) and in a short time, usually within a minute or less, it settles down and then reads correctly. Its not the strap and washing (or lack thereof); the issue goes back to the original "button" design and I suspect its salt contamination that gets past the seals and into the electronics. Usually in 2-3 years it starts doing it and thus I have to replace it. Anyway, hopefully this one is improved. It has both "open" and "secure" BLE pairing; be aware that if you're on a Fenix it may SAY it didn't connect properly but it in fact did pair -- if that happens to you shut the watch off and turn it back on and it should show up in the sensor list. Once I got past that it works as expected. I do like the charging (buy and use a port cover to reduce the risk of the above fault happening) rather than dry battery and that the strap itself can be detached and washed (and replaced when it wears out); we'll see how that plays over time. I don't swim nor does the "stand-alone" activity things it can do with the phone mean much to me, but for someone who DOES swim it will obviously matter. Oh, and the blinky-light, which is otherwise visible under clothing, can be toggled to "off after 2 minutes" if you pair it with Connect and not just the watch, which took me a bit to find and removes the one thing I'd otherwise find very annoying. Overall thus far (its only been a couple of weeks) its a fitting replacement for the older models.

Must have add on product!
I've been using Garmin products for years and this HRM is a must have addition to any compatible watch or bike computer. With the convenience of having a rechargeable battery and continuous tracking, it gives you the comfort to know that you can keep your mind on your race or training rather than worrying if this product isn't tracking your every move. If you're looking for a HRM with the added features the HRM 600 gives than this is the monitor you need to be racing or training with.

Don’t bother
The HRM 600 does not work with Instinct. I spend more time trying to get it to pair then I do using it. Am going to return

Core Monitor
I like HRM 600 . It connects to my Garmin edge seamlessly and offers reliable and consistent reading during my use. The HRM also offer a great battery life and it is also rechargeable. Connected to Garmin Connect app. You monitor the battery charge remaining on the device after use .

HRM600 almost perfect, so close.
Seems better at tracking HR but still not great during the first cold mile but once warmed up the data looks consistent and accurate. The strap isn’t anything better wrt comfort but still easy to adjust. Ordered the smaller size but returned it because it’s really small. The proprietary cable isn’t great, if lost or left behind, but that it can be charged, is well worth the upgrade because changing batteries wasn’t a great experience. Also the option to use to track activities without a watch is nice feature in case the watch is out of commission or MIA for some reason. So overall worth the purchase. And BTW it’s working great with my old xt920. I still feel Garmin is the best quality HRM out there just shy of perfection.

Works well.
Works well. Attaches and comes off easily. I had read people saying their unit was almost impossible to remove from the strap. Perhaps that issue has been fixed. Unit seems to stay charged for a long time. My only complaint would be the price. If it were cheaper I would give it 5 stars.

Great heart monitor!
I purchased a new Garmin 970 watch and the HRM 600. I love these two products and they work great!. I see my heart rate when I'm working out. They work very well together and the heart monitor is very comfortable to wear.

Great Info Tool
Purchased to learn more about my health journey and it did not fail. I’m an info junkie and this thing provides everything you need to know. If it doesn’t have what you need, you didn’t need it. Well worth the purchase amount.
