Purchase quantity frustration
I keep getting discount savings offering emails, but when I go onto the web site to try & buy librarian quiet pickleballs in either of the smaller quantities they always show sold out. Very frustrating.

No pain when getting hit with it.
Worked great indoors, people didn't know what to do with out the noise. Outdoors with a little wind and no wind protection, to light. Is they a way to add a plastic or metal ball to the center, to add weight ?? Great ball for older players, indoors !! I didn't try it outside, with wind protection yet. I try it out next week, Thank You.

It sure is quiet
Got exactly what I was expecting and with a fast delivery. I can now easily run drills against the wall in my apartment without driving my neighbors crazy. Also doubles as a pretty sweet stress ball.

Very quiet, fun, plays similar but not the same
Our group has played several games with the Gamma Librarian foam ball. We found the ball to play slightly faster, and the ball bounces slightly higher than a normal pickleball especially when force is imparted on the ball. It reacts to spin more than a plastic ball, and a slicing backspin that would normally skid a bit on the court surface, instead tends to grab the court surface and stop and bounce straight up. It also reacts to top spin a little more making balls that would normally carry out of bounds drop in several feet short of the baseline. It also reacted to wind a little more than a normal ball, but was still playable with 10-12 mph winds. All that said, the ball does play similar to a real pickleball and it was fun to play with it. Folks seemed to enjoy the novelty of trying it out, but no one in our group of about 20 players opted to play a second game with it. Several felt that it was very similar to regulation play, but if you played with the librarian regularly it could adversely affect your game when playing with tournament approved balls. The ball is whisper quiet regardless of what type of paddle is used. It seems like you could drill against the wall of your apartment with it without bothering the neighbors next door or below you. This ball would be suitable alternative to use where other sound mitigation methods cannot be deployed because of cost concerns or other technical reasons. It is THE most cost effective way to mitigate pickleball sound and it basically makes the game silent. It is a vast improvement over Gamma's closed-cell foam practice ball as it plays much closer to a regulation pickleball than the previous iteration. I applaud Gamma for releasing this ball and hope to see further development of ulta-quiet pickleball equipment that plays the same or close to tournament approved gear in the future.
