A: I don’t think it was detachable. We gave it to our one year old grand for Christmas. I don’t remember it being detachable. He loved it though!

A: I would think this toy would be boring to an 8 year old. Our 1 year old grand loves it. His 3 and 5 year old siblings weren’t interested in it for more than a couple of minutes though.
