A: Your Beagle falls within the 35 lb weight limit for the 26" bed. However, if your pup is on the longer side or likes to stretch out rather than curl up while sleeping, we would recommend the 35" size for extra comfort.

Q: What is the height of the hood part when lifted up, hope that makes sense, for the 26 and 35 sizes. Would the 26inch fit a 40lb dog (usually curls up)?

A: Hello and thank you for your question! The height of Medium (26") is ~12" and the Large (35") is ~14. With your dog weighing 40lbs, we would recommend the Large as to ensure the foam base provides proper support.

A review after almost a year
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had these beds for almost a year. One is for our 9 year old, 55 lb girl who actually sleeps in her bed all night now instead of getting into ours. The other is for our boy who started out at 5 months old and about 40 lbs and is now up to 90 lbs. He still fits in it and it has survived a year of a giant, clumsy, goofy puppy. To be fair it's only his bedtime bed. They both love burrowing under their covers as well.

Koko loves her new Furhaven cave! This was purchased as a replacement for her worn out cave. The new one seems to have more fluff than the last! It was a fair price and good quality. Koko couldn't be happier! A suggestion, if possible-->It would be awesome if Furhaven offered replacement covers for purchase vs having to purchase entire bed:)

They have been have been using an old beat up Snoozer Cozy Cave, and like the old bed a lot bette. I have not had much luck getting them to accept the new bed.

Disappointed
Very disappointed in this bed. I purposefully bought a size up, but it still does not work. The top part is way too tight. When my dog tries to sleep in this, he stands on the bed and circles before going down (as many dogs do). The top is stretched so tight across his back that the sides of the bed lift up and the whole thing rocks back and forth as he circles. He can only get under if I stretch it up for him. I got the 44” bed, and my dog is only 50 pounds. He is not as big as the suggested breeds for this size bed, but it is way too taut. He no longer even tries to get in. What a waste of money, as the whole point is a bed he can snuggle into.

My 20lb French Bulldog loves the Snuggery Burrow Dog bed. She gets cold easily so being able to cover herself in this bed keeps her cozy & warm. The bed is perfect size and the padding is thick so she is comfy for her many naps :)
