THIS IS A SPECIAL EDITION If you are new to this series and not sure if you’ll like it, you can buy the original edition for $9.99 retail. Fullmetal Edition is $19.99 retail (cheap for a hardcover manga especially a special edition) The contents, story wise, are exactly the same as volume one in the original edition. Original edition is a paperback manga in a normal print format. This version, Fullmetal Edition, is a hardback manga that is bigger than the original print and is about the size of the larger viz manga. It contains bonus content such as character artwork and a clear page, as well as a raised gloss design on the cover that is visible in the right light angle. Very well made, every page is high quality photo type paper and the hardcover will obviously last way longer than the original print.
