FLY BY JING Sweet + Spicy Sichuan Chili Sauce - 6oz

I am a wimp when it comes to spice, like a medium salsa spice-level. This felt like it was burning my tongue off when I tried the tiniest amount on rice. Others seemed to like it but man, as someone who wants to like more spice, it was too much. I wanted to experience the flavors people said it had, but it was just fire to me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I realize this is marketed as a chili sauce and not crisp, so keep in mind it is not as crunchy as other chili oils I’m used to. That being said, the sweet and spicy flavor is delicious and pairs so well with many dishes, especially eggs or fried rice or soups.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a while ago and it has been hard trying to ration this jar across noodles, dumplings, and Har Gow dumplings. I love the contrast in the sweetness from the brown sugar and the spice from their chili peppers. I also love that they use mushroom powder to add umami to the sauce.

Great heat, but also great flavor. Have ordered multiple times and shared with friends too!

I have purchased four different Fly by Jing sauces and the Sweet & Spicy is by far my favorite. I have tried a lot of sweet & spicy sauces because it is my favorite sauce. This has the best combination of the two! I highly recommend!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Fly By Jing Sweet + Spicy chili sauce recently and it exceeded expectations. I really like the balance of the sweetness with the spicy chili when paired with salmon or eggs.

I'm glad breastmilk can't be spicy because I am 90% Zhong Sauce at this point. One of the things I grieve the most as a new parent is having time to cook gourmet-ish meals at home. Our household is simply in survival mode right now, and we are eating more for nourishment and energy than pleasure. This is understandable and expected, but as a gourmand, it also makes me very sad. I bought this sauce on a whim because we love Sichuan flavors and thought a new condiment would lift our spirits. At that moment, I did not know that I would became deeply obsessed. This sauce is perfect. Absolutely perfect. No notes. It's not too spicy or too sweet, full of flavor, and makes everything taste more interesting. As many other reviewers note, it's good on LITERALLY EVERYTHING (and I got some really great ideas reading the reviews, thanks to all my fellow Zhong sauce lovers). It's good on things you'd expect like proteins, veggies, takeout, eggs, dumplings/bao buns, etc., and good on things you wouldn't expect like boxed mac & cheese and peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. It also makes a killer spicy mayo. I will be ordering the King Zhong next because the standard sized jars that I can get locally simply do not last long enough.As you would expect, I don't have a ton of time on my hands but I wanted to write this to raise awareness for this sauce. I'm a marketer by trade and I'm guessing the name change was a marketing choice to increase the popularity of the Zhong sauce. I can't have this product getting discontinued... parenthood is for the long haul. So, everyone - Buy this sauce! Put it on everything! Descend into madness! Repeat :)

I finally decided to try and i was absolutely not disappointed. Sweet and salty goodness with some heat. I will be trying more of their products. Got my eye on the lookout for their noodles.

I have been buying Zhong Sauce for over 4 years and am absolutely in love. I gift it to people at Christmas time and I just sent a bottle to my youngest sister and her roommate. Everyone who tries it becomes obsessed!! It's got a great amount of heat (I'd consider it a tolerable medium heat that doesn't build) and I put it on absolutely everything. Egg and toast, salmon, fish tacos, in a salad dressing, on hot honey chicken, on dumplings, gyoza, etc etc. My favorite way is to spoon some of it over sunny side up eggs with micro greens and a crusty toast. Perfection!! It's spicy but there's a lot of sweetness in there that is addicting.Not sure why it was renamed, I was struggling to find the product and couldn't understand why. Zhong Sauce is so much cooler of a name. The new name is a mouthful and confusing now that there are four versions of chili sauce. Too bad! It'll stay "Zhong Sauce" in our house :)

I so wanted to use this absolutely delicious sauce in a real meal or dish, but it's so good that the jar never made it past my morning rice and eggs. It lent such a sweetness and spiciness that contrasted with the Chengdu Crunch (my favorite) that also goes on the eggs and rice. I am very pro-sauce pro-dip in my life, so I'm so picky. This has an amazing flavor and great texture. I'm sure it's also fantastic in real food ;)
