The size doesn’t fit.
Run slightly bigger… doesn’t fit. I had to purchase brand. My disappointment is that I’m reading olds comments and reviews (about 2 years ago) and looks like the brand is not interested to fix this issue.

Runs Slightly large and Doesn't Fit
I cannot comment of how well the filter works but wanted to comment on the Fit. I purchased the 1085 Allergen Defense Air Filter in 14x14x1 , 14x30x1 and 20x30x1 sizes. None of them fit. I was able to squeeze the 14x14 sized filter by slightly bending one side but has to bend much more of the larger filters to force the fit. I previously had the basic Filtrete filters in the same sizes and they fit with no problem but I wanted to upgrade my filter. Unfortunately, the upgrades version is just slightly larger despite being the same sizes. I will return this product and either have to go with the basic filter or find a higher quality filter by a different brand .

Prepare to be Amazed!
I purchased this filter a few days ago. Before installing this filter, my husband was sneezing very often everyday. We were so amazed the first day, he did not sneeze at all; everyday since, it has been the same. I know a person would have a hard time believing it could work so well and so fast, but it is absolutely true. Thank you for making such a wonderfully made product.

Been buying these for several years now, 1085 or 1085D, and wouldn't go elsewhere. We change every 4 months and they're catching everything we need them to.

Great value for the money!
This does exactly what is says it will do. With all the wildfire smoke, I was worried but this did a great job. The 1085 can not be beat for the price. I don't have severe allergies or asthma so I can't say how it does against those.

Very good filter
I only need a filter for my AC — my heat is baseboard hot water — and these do a great job catching the dust and dirt and that seem to come from nowhere!

I have been using this particular brand and type of furnace filter for decades! It seems to do a fabulous job of catching the gunk out of the air that comes through the furnace system. Two thumbs up from me!

Great Disposable Filters
Been using the 20x25x4 for multiple years now. Filters work great, I replace mine every 90 days in my house. Never had any issues or concerns about quality or construction of the filters. I've seen many complaints about the 1" thick filters and while I understand their concerns; a 1" thick filter is old technology and should consider getting a larger filter box. I find the complaints about the tabs holding the pleats in the filter where you may have to push a few back trivial. You're buying a MERV 11 equivalent disposable filter, again DISPOSABLE. It wasn't long ago when everyone was just using the blue fiberglass air filters.. There is a balance between retail cost and manufacturing cost. If they raised prices to appease everyone, they'd complain the filters are too expensive even though build quality is excellent!

the reinforcement of side facing the blower has been eliminated, this has effect that causes the side facing blower to bow toward blower .this is not good .never had this problem with previous design.

Hello. 3M has made a change to our Filtrete MPR 1085 filters found at Lowes Home Improvement stores. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the demand of these filters, we have had to make modifications to our manufacturing which in some cases have caused a slight change to the filter. The new filters will not have the cardboard cross hatching and instead use a pinched-style frame. In keeping with 3M product quality assurance, the performance of the filter is not affected. Does not fit
I bought 16x20x1 as is instructed on furnace. It was too wide for slot. Prev filter said actual size 15 1/2 x 19 1/2 x 1. I found this to be the standard for most other brands. However, the filtretes purchaded are actual 15 11/16 x 19 11/16. Very odd and slightly too big.

Hello. We apologize for the difficulty. 16x20x1 is the nominal size for this filter. The actual size is undercut slightly from this measurement. Unfortunately this size can vary manufacture to manufacture. Filter measurements
Ronnielove is right. My filter measures .750” with a dial caliper. The response to his review states the filter is 7/8”. Not true.

Lousy Redesign
I've used these for decades; however, the new design is flimsy and hard to get a tight seal when inserted. Also, the screening on the filter is not as good as the previous ones.
