When first installing, it's important to make sure the clip on the back of the device is snapped into place. You should hear it click. When clipping into the vent, it should be positioned at a 90 degree angle. There is a dial at the top, and using the HIGH setting will provide a more noticeable scent. In addition, for the most benefit you should use a vent that is closest to you and make sure air is being circulated. When you've got it in a Febreze CAR Vent Clip, it might help to keep the vent you've got it hanging at a minimum opening, so that the fan's airflow is as light as possible.
