[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Essie’s To The Rescue really does what the name says — it helps bring dry, weak nails back to life. After a few uses, I noticed my nails felt stronger and less brittle. It absorbs quickly, doesn’t feel greasy, and has a clean, pleasant scent. I like that it layers well under polish too, so it fits easily into my regular nail routine. My only small issue is that the bottle is tiny for the price, but overall it’s effective and feels like a real treat for damaged nails.

great product!
what an awesome product to randomly stumble upon! i’ve been off gel manicures for probably 6 months now due to damage from removal and have been trying other products to help repair my nails. up to this point, the only thing i’ve used that has been reliable was sally hansen’s “hard as nails.” I decided to try this based on a video I saw online and dang i’m so happy I did. i’ve done two rounds of it in a row and my nails are so hard, long, and healthy! I can’t believe how well it works. i’ve heard others complain of mold but I personally have not experienced that yet, just fyi.

Terrible — do not buy
Believe the other reviews. This starts to peel within 24 hours, undoing any of the healing it’s done. And to make matters worse, it’s hard to remove, so you’re basically stuck waiting for it to peel off causing further damage along the way.

Yikes! I really loved this product because my nails are thin, bendy, and kind of sharp like baby nails lol. This dries super fast and is a lovely color. I don’t mind that it peels after a few days. But I just noticed a bunch of black mold in my bottle! I took the brush out to be sure I wasn’t just seeing the brush hair but no, big clump of black colored mold or something. And now I see this is like a whole thing and kind of common. I’ve only had this like a week! Second time using it lol! 🫠😫😭

Hi there Ashleeezy, no need for alarm (very helpful video BTW)…what you are seeing in the bottle is the mixing bead that’s added to each bottle to help blend the solvents when the bottle is shaken before each use.

Possible mold
I used it once and noticed mold in the bottle? Before noticing the mold I really liked the color it left on my nail, very natural and clean looking. Bummer to find mold in the bottle

Peels & Never Dries
This is super thick. It takes forever to dry even when you try to do super thin coats. And it will peel off within a day or two - or just move around on your nail. Love the color though.

Did the job but molded
It did definitely help. My nails are really damaged after having used gel for the last two years consistently. I bought this five days ago and opened it. I went to reapply today and noticed that my bottle has mold in it. I’m not sure if I got a defect or if that happens after opening it. I’m definitely too scared to use it again and to buy it again, but for the purpose that it had it did work, but it’s a shame that I only got to use it one time. I tried to add an image, but I was not able to.

This works!
I just had my gel nail polish removed and as expected my nails look terrible. Found this in the store and tried it. I followed the directions and my nails look great. I just took it off now and my nails have noticeably improved. White spots are gone. I am actually impressed with this product. Actually does what it is advertised to do. Highly recommend.

Don't buy!
This peels of SO quickly! Like hours after application it starts peeling. Don’t bother, just grab OPI Nail Envy instead.

Absolutely awful! I waited 40 minutes at least between each coat. Put it on clean nails. Next day peeled. Wish I kept receipt I would return. Love Essie polish, not this!

Pretty meh from Essie. I don’t have UV nail damage, but I liked the color and nourishing benefits. I waited 20 minutes between coats and application is bubbly. Also, the day after I applied, it reacted with my sunscreen and became sticky, which makes it pretty useless. Also all the positive reviews come from influenster so…. Grain of salt.

For best results, we suggested allowing the polish to dry thoroughly before applying sunscreen. Picked this up because the hype about the product in the beginning convinced me that this would be worth trying. I love a good ridge-filling base coat, especially when it supposedly also does some nice things to my nails. Most products won't actually do what they advertise because recovering your nail health is more about what you're eating, drinking, using cuticle oil, and being gentle on your nails rather than using them as tools. Still - my nails are especially fussy and very thin and bendy, so anything that can safely help give them some strength is good in my books. This product is really good about doing that - it doesn't make your nails harder, but it keeps them strong and bendy while also adding a bit of padding to them, just as described. It can help reduce the surface appearance of splitting and dryness, which is a perk. I find that the formula, while I love its thickness, can be hard to work with when it starts to thicken from repeated use. The directions call for thin coats, which is nearly impossible to do given that this is basically a natural nail polish version of a gel rubber base. The trick I've found that helps me apply thinner coats is by pressing the brush fan down so that it fans out across my nail before I do about two to three swipes. Try to work quickly because this product does start to dry fast - it just takes awhile to dry completely. Depending on the thickness of your coat, you may have to wait longer than 10 minutes for complete dryness. Overall, I think it accomplishes what it sets out to do. I would love to see this in other tones, like more neutrals, a pink, or even a white or a black.

I love this product. Had no issues with application. The color was perfect if you’re looking for a natural look. I waited 10 mins between each coat and applied Essie gel topcoat. My nails were very shiny and neat.
