Here are two quick things to check that often resolve the issue: Clear the Igniter Box: Ensure the small metal igniter box (the one with airflow holes) isn’t covered. It needs to stay unobstructed by the glass rocks to function properly. Warm the Thermocouple: When lighting the table, make sure you are holding the control knob in for about 15–20 seconds. Hello Sandy, sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your fire table to stay lit. We've found that following these tips helps: * Check for obstructions of airflow to the igniter box. Lava rocks or glass rocks should not be in this area, as they will cause the fire table to shut off due to insufficient airflow to keep the igniter lit. * When lighting the fire table, hold in the control knob for about 30 seconds to heat up the thermocouple, which is a sensor for measuring temperature. If the unit is not heated up to a certain temperature, the unit will shut off as a safety precaution. I've also included the lighting instructions below for quick reference. Hope this helps! 1. Make sure all labels, packaging and protective films have been removed from the outdoor fire pit. 2. Check for obstructions of airflow to the burner. Spiders, insects and webs can clog the burner/venturi tube. A clogged burner tube can lead to a fire. 3. Make sure control knob is in the “ OFF” position. 4. Clear small area of lava rocks / fire glass away from the igniter cover. Connect LP gas tank per “Installing LP Gas Tank” section. 6. Slowly turn LP gas tank valve 1 revolution to “OPEN.” 7. Push and turn control knob to (HIGH). Continue to hold the control knob in to light. 8. After the fire pit lights, continue to hold the control knob in for 20 seconds to heat the thermocouple, a safety device that stops the gas flow when a fire pit is not lit. Holding the knob in for 20 seconds warms it up so the gas flow will continue. 9. After 20 seconds, release and turn control knob counterclockwise to adjust flame to desired height.
