This monograph delves into his fascinating artistic life, uncovering previously unpublished details, including rare books from his personal library, correspondence with fellow artists, his artistic work, and his remarkable collection of modern art, featuring works by Puvis de Chavannes, Solana, Rodin, Carrière, Iturrino and De Groux, among others.

About the Author

Lola Cabrero is Assistant Professor at the University of Cantabria, Santander, after several years teaching at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Université Panthéon-Sorbonne, Paris. Her research focuses on History of Aesthetic ideas and New comparativism, together with text and image. Her most recent publications include War Diary of the Architecture's Student, Francisco Cabrero Torres-Quevedo (2022), "Visual Literacy" in The Routledge Handbook of Multiliteracies for Spanish Language Teaching (2024), and "Ambivalence in young Picasso" in Picasso hors cadre (2024).

Lola Cabrero es profesora en la Universidad de Cantabria, tras varios años de enseñanza en instituciones como la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y la Université Panthéon-Sorbonne, París. Está especializada en Historia de las ideas estéticas y Nuevo comparatismo relativo a texto e imagen. Sus recientes publicaciones incluyen Diario de guerra del estudiante de arquitectura Francisco Cabrero Torres-Quevedo (2022), "Literacidad visual" en The Routledge Handbook of Multiliteracies for Spanish Language Teaching (2024) y "La ambivalencia en el joven Picasso" en Picasso hors cadre (2024).
