Pretty, but...
This is a very pretty leotard and we so wanted it to work. However, the leo dips down low in the front and is therefore too low in the chest for an 8 year old to be appropriate. When we tightened the straps to shorten it, it only fits when the straps were pulled allll the way to the ends. Unfortunately, once you tighten it that far, it gets really hard to UN-tighten the straps. So, my daughter cannot get this leo off and on by herself unless she has an adult with strong hands to loosen the straps for her to get it off. She takes 3 hour long dance classes, so this leo makes bathroom breaks an impossibility, and her teachers don't have time to help her with that. DWG recommended we size down for the strap issue, but the width in the hips and waist was already very snug on her, so sizing down would have made it impossible to get over her hips. It is VERY pretty though, a unique design, and nice fabric. I think for a teen, it would probably be fine. DWG was very helpful and accommodating for the return.
