A: Our soaps last 2-3 weeks on average with daily use. This can differ based on a variety of factors — the amount of lather, the amount of body hair, the frequency of use, and the water type. If you're looking to extend the life of your soap, here are a few tips: 1. It's best to store your soap in a place that will allow it to dry out between uses — we recommend using a Dr. Squatch Soap Saver or Soap Gripper, which can usually double the life of our bars. 2. After showering, give your bar a little shake before storing it away on the Soap Saver, removing any excess water. 3. Use a loofah or shower cloth to increase the lather in your soap, and do not use the bar directly under constant running water.

A: A majority of our Dr. Squatch products do not contain animal byproducts, including our Wood Barrel Bourbon Bar Soap. However, we do have a few of our Squatch products containing animal byproducts. These products are the Docs Deep Sea Goats Milk bricc (contains milk), all Shampoos (contains honey), and all deodorants (contains beeswax) that can be found on the Squatch site. Excellent soap but expensive for the size.
I really do love this soap. Here is the problem. This is a 5 ounce bar. The price used to be much less expensive. Now it's almost $8.00 a bar. You can buy the Duke Cannon Bourbon Bar which is 10 ounces or twice the size for the same price. You can also purchase Duane Johnson's brand Papatui for the same price (also a larger size). The real issue I've had though is that Target is always sold out of at least 50% of their stock (sometimes I've needed soap and couldn't find any, which caused me to switch brands and try something new). That is either a supply chain issue with Target or the manufacturer just isn't keeping up with product on the shelves. Either way, now that situation caused me to try two new brands which I like equally as well. (for a lot less money per ounce).
