Good AC
Got the 8,000 inverter to replace an older Danby 6,000 non-inverter with Silencer Technology. The new unit provides efficient cooling and is very quiet especially so because the compressor does not loudly "kick in" as did my old unit.

Great Window Air Conditioner
Very nice features, extremely quiet, great remote control and phone app. Attractive design. Only had it installed for 3 days now so this could all change, but so far it's been good, and we're day 1 of a 3 day heat wave with temps in the 35°C range. Wife says she can hear a faint rattling from inside the unit so we'll see if that continues. No signs of any condensation yet. Recommend having extra weather stripping on hand as not nearly enough is included, and there's small gaps everywhere on our single-hung vinyl window. Energy efficiency rating is confusing - SEER rating is very low, but estimated yearly cost is also low when compared to traditional (non-Inverter) units. Not sure what's up with that since this model is supposed to be 35% more efficient with "advance (sic) DC inverter technology"

Not a fan of this A/C
I had a similar A/C unit from another company (the features, BTU, etc) but this one is not as good as the other one (the remote sucks, it barely goes off and doesn’t cool the room as well). It’s also a lot bulkier, heavier and the filter is just odd). My old A/C had an indicator when the filter needed to be cleaned. The only thing better is the noise level is really quiet on the Danby model.

Not great at all. Thinking of returning the unit.
Just purchased the unit. First time using it today. So far not impressed. I believe I bought a lemon. It is not cooling the whole livingroom at all. Plus it stops automatically after a few minutes. Have to turn off and turn on again and put on fan mode.

Danby AC DAC080B8IWDB-6--Very Good AC, Poor Manual, Poor Support
This is a review of Danby 8,000 BTU inverter air conditioner, Model Number: DAC080B8IWDB-6. This cools effectively to my preferred temp (mid to upper 70s F in 90 degree weather) and is extremely quiet. Like all inverters there is a very high-pitched hum but it is so soft that it is not noticeable to me or to my cat. I do not use the wifi or the remote so I cannot rate them. The user manual is poor. It provides 6 pages of installation instructions (which are repeated in a separate insert) and 4 pages of safety notices/warnings such as, "Your air conditioner should be...protected from moisture." Most of it is hanging out the window--are we supposed to put a raincoat on it when it rains? There are another 6 pages of safety instructions for service techs. The actual user instructions are 1 page each for the AC, the remote control, legal requirements for the remote control, the wifi, and the care and use--all of them are very sketchy. This is exacerbated by the near impossibility of getting anyone on the telephone. So, although the AC would rate 4.5 stars it loses one star for the poor instruction manual and one star for the lack of telephone support. That leaves 2.5 stars.

Great Air Conditioner
Just installed my window AC without any problems. My room is cooling down in a hurry!
