We bought two of these because we wanted a simple watch for our 6 and 8 years olds. We wanted it to tell time, encourage activity, and have a few games. But we didn’t want to have to pay for a data plan or anything like that. We also liked the way these watches looked compared to other brands that are marketed for younger kids. In those regards, I guess they fit the bill. However, even though I ordered the same watch at the same time in two different colors, I was sent two different versions of the watch. One was a CT JR-6 and one was a CT JR-3. This took me forever to figure out, as the boxes looked exactly the same and both said “Cubitt Jr Gen 3”. We realized it when my husband paired one to his phone and I paired the other to my phone, and the apps had different features (one had more game options). As you can imagine, this meant one child was upset that her watch didn’t have the same options as her brother’s. And we can’t exchange it because it was sold by a Target partner, so I guess they don’t honor the holiday return window (it was a Christmas present). Also, we were excited about the “Keep a Pet” game, which supposedly is a virtual pet that they “feed” by being active and acquiring steps. However, that game doesn’t seem to be included anymore, as we couldn’t find it anywhere. Overall, the app felt frustrating to use, and the deceptive marketing only made it worse.

POOR SHIPPING RESULTS
This review is not about the product, its about the shipping of it. I ordered on 12/12/25; indicated receipt on 12/18. Today is 12/20 and now indicating 12/22 receipt. I need to ship to family who are gathering on one specific day just after Christmas. I had plenty of time to handle but TARGET elected to use USPS to me, which is a totally unreliable source of efficiency. Hope the watches are worth the wait.

Never charged, somehow it broke my old watch too
I plugged it in a day and a half before I used it, it seemed to be at full charge when I finally pulled it off, so I used it. When I went to charge it a couple days later, it wouldn't charge. I thought maybe the cord wasn't working, so I tried the charger from my old watch (the old watch wasn't broken, I got the Cubitt because I wanted an upgrade). It wouldn't charge on anything. I figured I should make sure the cord worked, so I tried to charge my old watch using the charger that came with the Cubitt. . . and my old watch stopped charging on anything too. So, I payed $50 to go from one functional, if older, watch, to zero watches. Thanks a lot.

Broken quickly
After only three months of daily wear by my 9 year old, the clasp has broken and is no longer usable. The piece that holds the extra band down once it’s clasped broke two months in but he just used a rubber band to hold it down since he did love the watch. But, now that the clasp is broken too there is no way to make it usable. Very disappointing.

My son enjoys his smartwatch. He loves the activity tracker. He has been extremely careful with this watch, but the band has still broken. He hasn't even had it an entire month and he takes it off when he plays sports. I'm concerned that even with a replacement, the band isn't going to last.
