Very short sand anchor

Purchased this umbrella because it provided an 8 foot span comfortable for two beach chairs. Although the style, size and design are a good fit, I am going to return it. The reason is the sand anchor is not long enough to secure the umbrella. Making it unsafe to me especially on a breezy day.

Blows away easily due to lightweight construction

We use this over our stock tank pool (just took off the beach screw on bottom and slid it onto a steel pole). The beach screw is really short, so I don’t know how well it would even work in the sand. We live in south Texas and found the umbrella up against our fence one morning after a night with little to no wind, so we keep it collapsed now, which kinda defeats the purpose of using it to keep the water from evaporating, but it has good coverage when it is open. And, it didn’t break when it blew off, so points for that too.

Sand Anchor Not as Pictured

The sand anchor in the description, and pictured had large flanges crucial for anchoring a large umbrella on a windy day. The item that arrived had a little swirl thing only good for getting it into the sand, but useless for securing the umbrella.

Solid purchase

Used this in Destin for a week and it worked fine. It wasn’t extremely windy but it held up fine against the “normal” breeze. The only complaint I have is the bottom part that twists in the sand wasn’t as the picture showed. We had to purchase a separate sand anchor. I would still purchase again if I had to.
