Annoyed

It\'s a great umbrella if there\'s no wind. For the life of me I can\'t figure out why it keeps spinning. There\'s a section where it meets by the handle that has screw heads but the thing still rotates with a slight wind.... the base slides into a slot so you can spin it with that if needed so it spinning from the top is pointless and annoying.

UNEXPECTED SURPRISE

This was a gift to a person who only likes Useful Things. He loves it. It\'s sturdy. It can be moved around the yard. He never would have thought of it himself. At first, the size concerned him, buy it wasn\'t long before he thought of placement.

Of course you should install this per the manufacturers recommendations but I don't have sandbags yet and I'm over a year into owning this and have never had any issues with stability. That said- if I had any complaints about this umbrella it would be that it's a little bit awkward to open and close as you have to dodge the umbrella as you crank it open or closed. Also, the black fabric base cover is quite faded from the one year I t's been outside. It would be nice to have a cover for the whole unit, and also a base that would drain any rain water a little better.

The Deck is Usable!!

Our deck has not been usable in the afternoons since it is all to sunny. Our prior attempts at creating shade have been unsuccessful. This, however, is exactly right. Easy to put up and take down (essential when it is super windy like it can be on the deck), it is large enough to shade most of the deck. The house is cooler because of the shade as well. A great investment!!
