Conair GS23X ExtremeSteam Handheld Fabric Steamer - White -

I purchased the Steam & Press after having trouble with a non Conair steamer. The device kept getting my clothes wet and I didn't get my clothes steamed properly. I would eventually have to get out the traditional iron so it defeated the purpose of having a steamer. The Steam & Press has a large water reservoir, and steams evenly. And due to it's unique shape, you can lay your clothes on an ironing board and get a really good press as well. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a "works right out of the box" experience.

Very easy to use and works wonders in getting the wrinkles out. I like the fact that you don't need to bust out the ironing board with it. Just hang up and steam away. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this 2 in 1 only to steam my garments. I didn't try using it as an iron, but I would guess it's not a good replacement for a traditional iron. My wardrobe includes chino pants, jeans, t-shirts, and button down shirts. There's several things I liked about this steamer. Out of the box I noticed that I really enjoy holding it. The way it is shaped provides great ergonomics. Although it's made primarily of plastic, the build quality seems better than the steamers that I've used in the past. I also like the performance of this steamer. It provides ample amounts of steam very quickly and I haven't had any issues with it gurgling and spitting hot water out onto my clothes. As for removing wrinkles, I haven't noticed any steamers removing more wrinkles than any others. They all seem to get just enough out to make the item wearable again. As great of a little device as it is, there's one obvious downside. The hole where you put water in to fill it up is so small. You almost need a funnel just to pour water into it. That being said, I don't think it's a big enough deal to remove a star. I also think that Conair should include a steaming mitt with the steamer instead of insisting you buy it separately. It just makes steaming your items so much easier. Overall, this is a good purchase at this price point and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a handheld steamer.

It only takes 35 seconds when you press the steam button it blinks and after it's ready to use, it is a solid light. It steamed clothes and curtains well, and the automatic hot iron is convenient. I am mostly steamed vertically so I did not experience any leaks. It is not heavy while using it. The water reservoir is small, but that's what makes it portable. I would prefer if the opening to fill the reservoir would be a bit bigger so as not to spill. Overall, it's a good portable and handy steamer that doesn't take up a lot of space.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When getting ready to use the steamer, getting the water chamber open requires some getting used to. As someone in thirties, I was able to open it but I felt worried that I was too rough and was going to break it. I had my mother who is in her seventies try it, and it took her a few attempts. She has some challenges with her fingers, so I could see this being an issue for some individuals. Our first use of involved attempting to take wrinkles out of sheer curtains, which it unfortunately did not do on the first attempt. We then tried to use it on a rug that had some wrinkles from being folded up. I to truly get the wrinkles out, the iron had to be used in addition to the steam feature. rug was more successful but needed to use it as an iron after steaming it to get wrinkle out. The design is nice, but it is relatively heavy compared to an iron. Because it's shaped to be an iron as well, the steaming action is harder to navigate on creases or wrinkles. The steam feature feels a bit less powerful than a dedicated steamer, but the versatility of being able to use it as an iron offsets this. Thus far, the iron feature seems to work a bit better than the steamer. Given that we just got it, and wanted to share our review after our first use, we did have an issue where after unplugging it the first time, we were unable to get it to power on when we plugged it back in. We tried a few different outlets, as well as leaving it unplugged for some time before plugging it back in. It eventually turned back on, and perhaps this was an isolated incident, but it is worth noting as there was no apparent cause for this issue. We've tried to incorporate more steaming in our household from cleaning the floor to disinfecting surfaces. We were eager to trial this as an alternative for a quick way to get wrinkles out or to disinfect clothing. While there's potential, upon our initial use, a few adjustments likely would've made this product a five star product in our view.

The steam only takes seconds to work and the soleplate only takes seconds as well. I grabbed the most wrinkled shirt I could find and within minutes it was perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent steamer. Before using this I had a large Rowenta Steamer and this blows that out of the water. It's so much smaller and easy to use and makes more steam. Being able to use this as an iron is definitely an added bonus too.
