Color Oops Extra Conditioning Hair Color Remover is an easy and effective way to reverse undesirable hair color. Free from bleach and ammonia, our formula works by shrinking dye molecules, allowing you to simply wash them away. This formula includes aloe vera to nourish the follicle and provide hydration along with healing soy protein complex to rebuild and restructure processed hair. Recommended for hair that has been colored with a regular, oxidative (mixed with developer) dye. Best used to create a clean slate allowing you to easily re-color hair or transition to a new shade.

A: You can color your hair after Color Oops. If coloring right after you have to make sure Color Oops is completely washed out. If not the hair will re-darken.

Most negative reviews are just user error
This works great, but only if you read the instructions as directed and read the product information. This is for PERMANENT hair that are mixed with developer. It says not only on this app, but on the box itself, that it is not for direct dyes which are ones you use without developer or vibrant colors such as pink, purple, blue, etc. So if you’re looking at the reviews on this product, do you hear yourself a favor and ignore the one star reviews, because they are all people who just don’t read directions and blame it on the product. And I personally recommend waiting a couple days before dying your hair after using this because I’ve had an issue where I was trying to dye my hair red immediately after using this, and it turned black.

Black Haired Witch to Golden Mane
I went from 6 years of permanent auburn, box dyed hair to my NATURAL golden brown in 20 minutes. I accidentally dyed my hair wayyyyy too dark and I bought this out of desperation. IT WORKS!!! Follow the directions EXACTLY but when you get to the rinse stage I used a clarifying shampoo over and over and over and OVER again for the whole 20 mins. I am now struggling to get the smell out (it’s subtle after washing it that much, but I still get wiffs of it). Currently soaking my hair in diluted white vinegar after doing a baking soda paste. Will update… BUT overall I’m so excited I don’t look like a black haired witch!

Great product
Second time trying it and let me say I love it !! Both times this product has worked. Also I noticed this one with yellow works better that the one with red! It got the color I needed off the only thing is that the more I washed it, it turned into a light brown instead of returning me to the copper , it did return me to a copper but the more rinsing I did it changed to light brown.! Other that that this product is great !

Does not work
I wish i had read the reviews first. This lifted NO color from my brown ends after growing my grays for 6 mos. I guess i'll have to find another product and read the reviews ahead of time. I now have a heavy duty hair mask on to moisturize my hair and scalp. Waste of time.

Absolutely useless!
I bought this today to try to remove the build up of dark brown hair dye over a number of years so that I can go grey gracefully!! It smells aweful and even after rinsing for twenty minutes and washing four times then conditioning it it still smells disgusting. It has not lifted any colour out of my hair. Not one strand is lighter! What a complete waste of money, time and effort. I would not recommend!

Not so great on vibrant color
I purchased this to remove or at least to tone down a vibrant red pink tone, says its natural but smells like vinegar and permanent solution mixed together. Followed all instructions yet it only pulled to a lighter pink red shade.

Buyer beware!!! I would give this minus stars if possible. Not only did this product not remove the fading dark blonde Demi-permanent color from my blonde/gray hair, it turned it bright red like on the package. It also caused painful blisters on my neck and scalp. What a horrible and regrettable experience!

Amazing color remover
I absolutely LOVE Color Oops! I have been using it for over 10 years, and I've known about it for probably 15. They finally released extra conditioning and it's even better. Yes the product smells like sulfur/rotten eggs, but you need to put that aside if you want it's great results. Do NOT take the rinsing instructions lightly. If you don't wash it all out your hair will redarken and then be stinky for nothing because you didn't take the time to rinse properly. Bravo to Color Oops, you have saved so many people

Horrible Horrible Smell
Smells absolutely horrendous and even after the 20min rinse, shampoo, conditioner and a nourishing oil my hair still smells so bad. It also was missing the hair cap in the package so I had no way of keeping my head warm. But it seemed to have done the job. I had leftover reddish tone leftover from dying my hair a dark reddish brown months ago and my hair seems less red. I don’t think I’d use this again.

Some organic low molecular weight Sulphur-containing chemicals known as Mercaptans have a strong cabbage or bad egg smell. Any Mercaptans that are trapped in the hair fiber (keratin) after rinsing will release this unpleasant smell. Very dry or porous hair is likely to hold on to these chemicals longer so will require several if not more shampoos.

Not good at all
Trying to get professional purple out of my hair. My hair turned blue and I followed directions. Even with the double wash it smells absolutely horrible and now I can't get the smell out.

Miracle worker!
Dyed hair WAY too dark (and BLUE) for my complexion. Ordered the extra conditioning Color Oops, which I never even heard of, after Google search for help. As you can see by my photo collage it turned out perfect. Smell was almost non existent. Followed instructions as directed. Couldn't be happier. Hair is a little dry, but then it was to start with. Nothing a little extra conditioning won't help. So happy to know this product is out there if needed!

Great Color Remover
Gentle Color Remover does the trick! I had all kinds of previous black/brown dye on my hair, so I decided to try this product out before I went red, by removing all the build-up I was able to prevent any patchiness without the damage, so I was able to dye my hair the same day!

Color oops Extra conditioning Saved my hair!
This product is a miracle worker! I dyed my hair last month and it came out to be a horrible color and I immediately regretted it! I didn't know what to do with myself, until a coworker told me about Color Oops ! She said it removed her hair dye and left it ready to put on another color , the same day! I was worried about drying out my hair but she said with Extra conditioning it is really hydrating and her hair was not damaged! So i decided to try it and now my hair is where I want to be to dye it to a new color!
