Great tent, poor poles
The tent is great and very spacious. The poles on the other hand are not. Went camping last night for some peace and quiet for an early birthday gift for myself and was excited to set up my flatwoods ii for the second time. One of the poles broke and basically shredded and almost cut my hand really bad. Impossible to get replacement poles.

Terrible pole quality
Bought this tent to go camping with scouts. In less than 24 hours, both main poles broke. The tent was just sitting there with very little entry/exit. One minute they were fine, the next they were broken.

Durable and sturdy
This is a review like you’ve never heard before…we have had the flat woods 2, 6 person tent for about 4 years. We use it for our annual family camping trip at Maple Park campground in Wareham, MA. This year, on July 3rd, 2025 we were caught in a freak storm that whipped up 75 mile an hour winds and sent rain and hail down on us for a dreadful 45 minutes. Every tent and canopy from our site and the sites around us were completely and utterly destroyed. We had to take shelter in our cars and as we got pelted with hail and sticks and limbs we prayed that we would come out safely. When the storm settled, we got out of our cars and checked the damage. It was surreal. Our whole camp destroyed in 45 minutes. The only tent that survived the super cell was our Flatwoods II. I can’t explain it other than it is a quality tent and the Weather Tec name on the side stands up to its name. OR…it was because I had an engagement ring sitting inside it and some higher power decided that the tent wasn’t going anywhere. So today, I am grateful to Coleman for making a tent that literally changed my life. Thank you!!

Great first tent for solo campers
I bought this tent 4 years ago when I first started camping on my own and it's been very reliable. It's easy to set up and take down as a solo camper and has plenty of room. First night out I was caught in torrential rain and winds and it stayed standing and dry. It has since been in several storms (including hail) and has stood firm and solid. I never worry about leaving the site and coming back to a destroyed tent due to weather. My only gripe with pretty much *all* tents now, not just this one, is lack of *windows*. I'm not a fan of a huge amount of mesh with just the rainfly. I couldn't catch a decent breeze and I don't like leaving the tent uncovered and no matter how I rigged the rainfly, it wasn't enough to get good air movement. Tents, in my opinion need *windows* and the two on the door aren't enough. On a hot day and cool night my bedding would get damp and get that "camping" feeling (Ha! ironic right?) where your bedding and clothes are damp but not wet. It's not enough of a problem where I'll rag on the tent and toss it, but just an annoyance factor. Overall, in the 4 years I've owned this tent it's treated me very well. I like that the poles aren't attached and have been rugged enough to me manhandling them into place as a solo camper and have recommended it to other first time campers. I am looking for my next tent, as it's time for an upgrade.

Shotty Tent Poles
Love how easy this tent is to set up and love Coleman products. Have been using Coleman products since I was a kid. However after one use in a mild storm one of the main pole bent and then eventually broke. Along with the rain cover pole which also bent and is now broken. I had to mend it so we didn't get everything completely soaked. These were some of the cheapest tent poles I've even seen. Usually it's my tent poles that would out last the canvas. this is not the case with these one.

Shotty tent poles
Love this tent because of how easy it is to put up and love Coleman products. Been using Coleman productsfor camping since I was a child. But after one use in a mild storm and one of the main pole bent and broke and the weather cover pole as well. These are the cheapest tent poles I've ever experienced. The canopy itself is fantastic but broken pole mean the tent is now useless.

Not the Coleman quality of the past.
We have had this tent about a year and like others we have noticed the quality doesn't seem to be as good as we have found Coleman tents to be in the past. Our previous tent was 10 years old before we needed to replace it. On this one the seam along the zipper is coming apart, the rainfly pole just broke and the ridge poles have bent. We handle our tents well and they have always lasted well. We haven't done anything that should have caused these issues. I hope Coleman sees this pattern and improves the quality of their products back to what it used to be.

Ridge pole broke
I have had many coleman tents and have been happy with my purchases. Before I share the issue, let me first sat, that I love the tent. It was a gift for my daughter for her to use in scouts with a buddy and all their gear. When attempted to help them set up the tent after returning from.a.one day outpost adventure I notice the one of the ridge poles.was split and cracking I was able to use some duct tape as a temp fix. My major issue is when attempting to file a warrany claim. The model number for this tent was not one from the drip down list. I need to get the ridgepole replaced.
