Ingredients changed
I have been using Clinique products since 2017 and previously used this facial soap without any issues. I recently tried it again as a sample and experienced a severe allergic reaction across my face, including my eyelids. After investigating the cause, I discovered that the ingredients of this product had been changed without any notice.

Best face wash!
I used to use the oily formula but now the mild is a better choice for my skin and it's my favorite!

Irritates my skin
This liquid facial soap is not compatible with me. Extra-mild which is recommended to very dry skin doesn't clean enough and I get pimples. Mild for dry combination skin makes my face flaky and I get pimples, again. Your 3-step routine cured my teenage acne 50 years ago and kept my skin looking amazing, but now I am frustrated. My skincare has become a daily guesswork of finding a right combination of liquid soap/gel/foam with suitable Clarifying Lotion and wondering what lotion or cream to use.

Major Spillage
Product is fine and works for my skin, but packing job was poor. Bottle should have been packed more securely in the box. A big mess and I lost quite a good amount of the soap. Not cool.

Absolutely Awful
I was SO excited to try this because I love so many of Clinique's products - my normal face wash was discontinued and I had a ton of recommendations to try this as a replacement. It was truly just awful. First, I didn't care for the smell, but second, it was too liquid-y that it wouldn't lather correctly - I felt like I was trying to use plain water to scrub my face. (I know it's a "liquid" soap but it still had some thickness from the bottle.) I spent a good while - longer than I usually do - trying to scrub my face clean. My face instantly felt dry and still dirty - I could tell most of the residual makeup and dirt didn't budge (and I do use a makeup remover before washing my face). I went to bed, and after 10 minutes I had to actually get up and rewash my face with the last bit of my old face wash I had left. HUGE difference. I was so disappointed in this. I definitely do not recommend (but still recommend other Clinique items).

inferior product in environmentally UNfriendly packaging
This product is a poor substitute for the facial soap bar both in effectiveness and in packaging. It doesn't leave my skin feeling thoroughly clean yet moisturized and refreshed, as the bar soap does. It comes in wasteful non-reusable plastic packaging that will never fully decompose. The packaging also makes it harder to use. After rinsing your face with water, instead of just picking up a bar of soap and lathering you have to fiddle with the plastic container that is slippery in your wet hands. Sometimes you squirt out the right amount but more often than not it's too much or too little. When the supply becomes low you have to turn it upside down to get product, but you are never actually able to use all the product because there will always be some left in the container. I would give this zero stars if I could.

Skin is burning
I bought the liquid soap because the bar soap has been discontinued. I've used it for two days and my face is red and burning. I'm very disappointed that you have again discontinued a great product. I've used Clinique for almost 50 years and always receive complements on how great my skin looks. I guess I'll start looking my age now. Thanks a lot!

The ONLY cleanser I'll use
This stuff is the GOAT. My face is blemish free (with exception of one to two hormonal zits that may arise towards the end of my cycle). It never dries me out. I have slightly sensitive normal skin but I live in Indiana (we have very hard water). I have used only this for the past ten years and do not see myself every switching. The initial price point is a little salty, but a little goes a long way - the per use price is probably the same as the cheap drug store cleansers. The large bottle will last me about 6-8 months. I highly recommend and even convinced a few girlfriends to switch (and now they're hooked)!

Great cleanser for oily skin!
I love the convenience of the gel squeeze bottle (one hand to open!), and it works well to thoroughly cleanse my oily skin without overly drying it.

So happy it's back
I've been using Liquid Facial Soap Extra Mild for years. It is the only one that doesn't overdry my skin and I was alarmed when I couldn't see it for sale any longer on the site, but thankfully it is back. I'm very happy.

Gentle skin cleanser
Im newly converted to Clinique skincare and have been using the 3 step routine for a couple of months now. This mild cleanser is perfect for my skin. It leaves my skin thoroughly cleansed but with no residue left or tightness. My eldest daughter is also using it and loves it.

Just like a regular soap
It feels just like a regular soap, and I haven't really noticed any effects.

Does What It's Supposed To Do
It gets the job done! Lathers well, cleanses well. It could be a little bit better in terms of feeling refreshed after use (could use maybe a bit of a cooling sensation), but that's a pretty minor critique. A solid cleanser!

Reformulated and made it cheap and toxic
I have always used Clinique Liquid Facial Soap - dry combination - since I was in high school. This soap has been in my rotation and the only face soap I've successfully and consistently used for over two decades. But as two other reviewers mentioned - Clinique has reformulated this soap with cheap, toxic ingredients. They now included Citric Acid, which is a common preservative that is not in fact a product of citrus but a product of a lab grown MOLD, which couldn't possibly be safe for skin, and Methylchloroisothiazolinone & Methylisothiazolinone. The combination is banned in Europe - as they are known skin irritants, can cause organ toxicity, and are two of the most predominant contact allergens found in cosmetic products. For a company that claims to be "clean" - clearly that is not true. I am wildly disappointed, and am tired of seeing you cheapen and reformulate all of your products I and many others have used for years. I have been a lifetime shopper - but I won't be anymore. Clearly you only value profit as a corporation, and don't stand by your original principles.

Horrible Reformulation-Allergen Warning
I'm absolutely stunned and saddened that Clinique reformulated the Dry/Combo and Oily/Combo cleansers to contain Methylchloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone. These are known allergens and have been highlighted as Allergens of the Year by several leading dermatology societies. For a brand that is meant to cater to sensitive skin, these are honestly the worst ingredients they could have added to these classic formulas. I would have been happier with fragrance being added! This is a major reformulation that could cause reactions for many people!

Works for me
I've been using this product for around 12 years. I like it because my skin doesn't feel tight or dry when I've use it. I do a 3 step routine twice a day which includes this product and my skin looks and feel smooth. Very happy with product

Cannot live without this!
I've always had very dry super sensitive skin, prone to breakouts. I'm now in my mid 30s and I have been using tretinoin for acne and wrinkles. It is helping tremendously, but is very drying to my already dry skin. This face wash (in extra mild for very dry to dry skin) has literally changed my life. I have been using it morning and night for the past 6 months, and my skin has never felt more hydrated. The soap is so creamy, it feels like you are washing with moisturizer. If you struggle with dry, flaking skin this face wash is a must!
