A: Hello! Our Butterball Premium Fresh All Natural Young Turkey is fresh, not frozen. Fresh turkeys at the retailers are stored between 26F-28F. After purchase, store your fresh turkey in your refrigerator, on a tray. Your refrigerator temp should be between 35F-40F. If you are not confident about the temperature of your refrigerator, cook or freeze the turkey within 3 days after sell-by date.

Q: it says on the internet a fresh turkey should be cooked within 2 days. How can these be fresh and are they safe in the fridge for 10 days?

A: Hi Joe - Unopened, this product can be stored in the refrigerator until the sell-by date. Fresh turkey should be refrigerated at 35º F to 40º F. The lower temperature is preferred. If you are not confident about the temperature of your refrigerator, cook or freeze the turkey within 4 days of sell-by date.

Never frozen??
For a fresh, never frozen turkey it was partially frozen with large chunks of ice on the inside. I paid twice per pound compared to the frozen one as I didn't have the time needed to defrost. Very disappointed in this purchase.
