I have been eating Bob's Red Mill oatmeal for many years and love it. However I purchased the extra thick because that's all that was available in my local grocery store. Following microwave instructions did not soften the oats, so I tried stovetop and still chewy. I will use the rest of the bag for overnight oats or perhaps granola.

Taste’s like oats but thicker
So many gluten free foods don’t taste the same as the original, but this tastes just the same. The thick rolled oats have a great mouth feel compared to others. It feels less like eating gruel and more like, well oats.

Easy and delicious preparation; great for leftovers.
These healthy whole grain oats cook up with a nice texture, and take a little less time on the stove than the unrolled Scottish oatmeal I like. They keep their crunch even when re-heated. I like to save some of the uneaten portion after the first stovetop preparation. I put it in a buttered glass baking dish, adding currants or raisins, walnuts and or sliced apples, and store in the refrigerator for up to two days. When I want to eat the leftovers, I put the covered baking dish in my toaster oven for about 20 minutes. It makes a delicious breakfast without any need to stand at the stove.

Not just delicious; also nutritious.
I've loved these extra thick oats for years. I prefer them cooked for five minutes then dressed with Amish butter and brown sugar with a dash or two of cinnamon. They are also great in my family's home made oatmeal bread which is made with cooked oatmeal or cooked steel cut oats. Delicious.

If you want a chewier oatmeal that isn't as chewy as Scottish Oatmeal this is the one. I love chewing it but be forewarned, it will be soupier if you put in the amount of water suggested. I add a little of the quick oats to get a more creamier oatmeal if I eat this oatmeal.

Perfect for baking granola!
Love love love these oats! They are the perfect consistency for granola and the main ingredient in all of my granola company! I chose to use Bobs for their high quality as well as being an outstanding company. You won’t be disappointed with any of their products! I only wish I could buy this variety in 25 pound bags.

my favorite type of oats - Thick and chewy! Great for breakfast, great for cookies or whatever you want oats in. I enjoy these everyday (uncooked in non dairy milk). They are good for my blood sugar too. I prefer these type of thick cut oats. I have to eat gluten free so it's a win win.

Bob's Red Mill makes my morning
The Bob's Red Mill oats are thick and chewy. Dare I say "meaty"? They're even bigger and plumper when dry than the others. Because of this, you may have to experiment a bit with cook and wait times. Bob's oats make common commercial brands feel and taste like paper.

these oats are tasty and easy to cook as oatmeal. Is is also great for making your own granola as well as baking with. Makes great oatmeal cookies when combined with bobs 1-1 gluten free flour.

Perfect overnight oats
I like using the extra thick oats for overnight oats so that it's not mush in the morning but it's also not as chewy as steel cut oats. These are the perfect texture to enjoy by morning.
